I have tired searching (probably didn’t do a great job) but I just bought an 06 MT a couple of days ago and I know they are supposed to come with Brembo breaks, but why do the calipers say Acura on them? Do all of the Acura TLs with Brembos say Acura on them? I guess I am just used to seeing the G35 breaks actually saying Brembo on them.

Thanks for the help and sorry for the stupid question, hopefully I will have better ones down the road.. haha

They are Brembos, they just say Acura on the caliper. I like it a lot better than the G's that read Brembo.

Interesting...wonder what the difference in the compound is between the Infiniti's and the TL's?

I would never have dreamed the Brembo pads would last as long as 30K, but thanks for the info! I stand corrected!

Brakeworld has rotors for $50.00 each.
$60.00 a set (4) for the kelvar pads.

So that makes a total of $160.00 for all new front brakes.
That is why I do my own work.

Those rotors are rears for $50 each, the fronts are not avail in the cheap option, they have a pair for $500 for the fronts tho.......

Kevlar pads are $125 for front, and $54 for rear, not sure where you got those prices.

I bought the Rotex Kevlar pads for 65 dollars shipped. Ill find the website in a sec. They are in New York and you have to call as the last time I checked the pads were not listed for the 6mt.

That is $148.00 for one rotor?
And the dealer sells them for $125.00?

First I ever heard of the dealer being the cheapest price!

Brake pads

Axxis or Rotex gold? Which would you prefer for a 6MT.

I'm about to do this job on my car. Can anyone tell me how to remove the pins holding the pads to the caliper. I don't have the pin diver tool recommended in the instructions but stores don't open for another 2 hrs and I want to get this done early today. Any help is appreciated.

This thread is great!

I have 31,500 on my '05, and while in for an oil change, I was quoted $380 for front pads, which will need to be replaced within the next 6k miles or so.

Not bad life out of Brembos! Mostly highway.

I'm going to order the Hawk pads from Tirerack and do it myself to save a few hundred.
