Brake rotor resurfacing

My 2007 TL has only about 5,800 miles and already needed resurfacing both front and rear rotors. I am not an agressive driver and I don't ever brake hard. This is my 9th Honda product and until now I never needed resurfacing or rotors at such early stage. My last car, a 1999 Honda Accord V6 EX - needed resurfacing of the front rotors at about 38K miles. Even though warranty took care of the resurfacing, I am still a bit disappointed with the quality of the TL.

Anyone else had to resurface their brake rotors so early?

Why do you need to resurface your brake rotors?

Are you experiencing brake pedal pulsation?

You may have a pad problem that is subject of a service bulletin- call acura and ask

Do you drive the car real gentle when stopping- that can glaze the pads and make the wheel shake

are your driving an auto or the 6speed mauanl trans>

Yes, I was feeling brake padel pulsation. On my A1 service I complained to the dealer and they first resurfaced the front rotors and then after test driving decided that the rear needed resurfacing also. The brake works great now but I am afraid my rotors are thinner now and may not last long.

By the way, I have a 5 speed AT.

Yes, your rotors are thinner yet nothing to worry about.

Many times rotors will warp quickly due to stresses created during manufacturing. I started feeling the "warp" on my 04 TL right around 5K miles as well. I'm a pretty non-aggressive driver thus lived with it until near 20K or so. I just removed the front rotors, had a local shop turn them for $10 each, and re-installed with the original factory pads (besides the warp the rotors/pads were perfect). I now have ~33K and breaks are still like new and I have experienced absolutely no warping.

Good luck
