Brake portion of B1 service

This is a cross post from fixes and repairs which got little response

I took my 06 TL in for the second service .. (B1 freebee) and the dealer said part of it was they took off all the wheels and "serviced" the brakes. What do they actually do in this "service". They said something about making sure everything was running free so there wasn't premature brake wear. Not just visual inspection.

If there is a DIY for this I'd rather do it myself. I declined them as I have after market wheels and don't like dealers pulling them .. too many bad experiences with dropping wheels .. leaning wheel on wheel and marring the lips .. over torquing .. etc etc etc .. you know the story.

I have the tools/jack/torque wrench and apptitude just need a good "real" DIY.
