Ok, so it's been a LONG time since I posted in this forum, but I've finally had some time to MOD the 04 TL YEAH!!

Anyway, I've been wanted to have the side markers all blink (front and back) and found the Garage link:

Well, I also plan on using switchbacks (LED) in the front and change out the rear signals to LEDs. So, this led me to a worry about 'hyper blinking' so I found this post about modifying the flasher relay:

Now the hard question, if I do the mod on the flasher, do I still need the load resistors for the blinking mod?

Also, am I to assume I will have to make 4 pairs of relays (one for each corner) to have the side markers blink? There isn't a place to wire just 2? (one for left and one for right)

if you do the under the dash relay mod, you dont have to worry about any load resistors....you're overthinking this.

 

Funny thing is the over thinking comes from using the search button ..

Any idea where I might find that "under the dash relay mod"?

Meantime, I'll attempt searching it out again.

 

ok .. after lots of searching I am unable to find this "under dash relay mod" to use the flasher relay resistor mod and have the side markers blink too.

Can someone help me find it please?

Still looking for under dash mod instructions (not the flasher mod) .. unless it's the same one but it won't cause the side markers to flash.

 

So then I'll take this lack of responses as no one knows any other way of doing the signal side marker mod then per Garage link above?

 

^ The under dash mod is the flasher mod. You're correct in saying that the relay mod itself will not cause the sidemarkers to blink.

The first thread you linked is the correct thread to make your own blinking sidemarkers.

All you'll need to do is figure out the correct resistor to mod your blinker relay with. Choosing the correct resistor is based on your total LED/sidemarker setup. I'm not 100% sure of the math on everything but if you read the 2nd thread you linked in your post, it'll all be in there.

You can also buy the switchback sidemarkers from USR if you haven't already considered that as an option. Hopefully you find this helpful.
