Black Or Anthracite?
I have a Nighthawk Black Pearl over quartz on order and have a build date of around 1/14. I also like the Anthracite over ebony or quartz. When I put my deposit down I spent about 45 mins trying to decide by going from car to car at the dealer looking them over.
I live in New England and have to deal with Snow and salt, etc during the Winter months. I also live in a new development and anytime you drive up and down the street you raise a lot of dust. My wife is all for the car, but thinks the Black is going to drive me insane trying to keep it clean. I'm a neat freak and really try to keep my cars looking new. I plan on using Zaino right from the start, but have never owned a black car. One of the things that I didn't like about the anthracite is everyone seems to thing this is going to be the most popular color. The dealer said they expect to sell 60 percent of the TLs as anthracite

Anthracite- I have a black car in a new development.... can't keep it clean. It's sitting in my garage filthy because I have given up fighting it. Plus I have the same issue with dirty roads in NE. If you could stand it I would consider silver or white if gray (anthracite) doesn't do it for you.
Seems to me like they both look dirty pretty fast, but certainly black is the biggest pain in the asss.
This is why my wife and I always agree on lighter colored cars. Just makes so much more sense.
BTW, I love my quartz interior. I've got the ebony on my MDX, and had it on my '02 Type S.

When I bought the TL-S, I was afraid it would be difficult to keep clean. I was wrong. It's not hard to keep clean. It's impossible! So, why did I buy another NBP TL? Nothing looks better when it's clean and waxed up. It's worth every minute of effort to try to make it clean. So, it depends on what you want. (and want to spend your time on.)
I've made my choice. NBP it is!
Black is best by far...for about an hour and then the dust starts and the first time there is a little moisture you are cooked. I have had 4 black cars and still have my black s4...but have a s2000 in silver that can go many days b4 you notice any problem...and for the TL we went with anthracite...very nice when clean and stays that way for awhile, and even when quite dirty does not show it from a little distance. And, while Zaino and Zymol and other premium waxes really show well in black, on anthracite it isn't as big an advantage and you can be nearly as nice with just a regular good wax.
I like my anth/ebony....a very elegant look.

I'd say Anthracite/Ebony. I too had a problem deciding which color, so I returned to Acura of Auburn for a third time and decided that Anthracite is definitely classy.
I know I may get flames for this, but I'd even consider adding a thin red pinstripe to it to just give it a little flash.
Are you still buying from Acura of Boston?
Also are you getting Navi? At first I didn't like Navi, but now I'm thinking that it is not a bad idea.

I'm getting anthracite/ebony. Black is a beautiful color when clean, but when it's dirty, it is really difficult to clean up. It also shows swirl marks (those circular "scratches") a lot more than any other color. However, I must say that the Acura TL's black is a really nice color.
Get anthracite. Don't get black. Black is good and bad because of the reasons stated. It would be a very bad color for people who obsess over perfection, those who fuss over dirt, and sufferers of OCD.

Yes - I'm still with Acura of Boston. They hands down beat Clair Acura pricewise - $1395 diff. And yes I have a 6 speed with Navi on order.

NBP, just because of how good it looks when it is clean, if you use Zaino get a lot of Z6 cause you will need it's antistatic properties to help keep the dust away. A California duster is also handy for your situation. If you think you are not up to the up-keep, just get the Anthracite, but in all honesty the satin Silver is by far the easiest to maintain.
I have an anthracite 2003 TLP and really love the color.
I plan on getting a new TL and although the anthracite looks great I will not get it in that color because I want something different. The NBP looks absolutely fantastic! Sure it will take work to keep it clean and shiny, but it will be worth it.

As to the Anthracite being the most popular, the dealer is probably right based on build numbers and existing order averages. However, that is a good thing when it comes time to sell and get a decent resale value. You may not have a unique color, but then again these cars are not going to be collectable any time in the near future so get what makes you happy, and consider what others will want when the time comes to buy a new one.
Congrats on getting a TL, which ever color you choose
