Cummon.

You had to know what you were getting into though.

It had to either be BULL$hit or a pretty bad Salvage vehicle.

I gaurantee this is not "suspected" fraud. This seller is a D-bag.

I know I haven't been around the block as much as some but seriously no one is selling an 07 w/nav for 11k. A salvaged one is worth more than that. Why would some stranger basically give you another 14k+ extra value for free. People aren't this nice, no one's going around giving away 14k+ for kicks. Also if you find a smoking deal that you really want you should not post the link. It's just going to end up with someone driving off with your future car.

dont negotiate until you SEE the car.

if he wants money before you even see the car, in my eyes its a scam.

If it's too good to be true, then it probably is. Report him to autotrader. He's giving honest seller's or decent people a bad reputation.

I reported it as a fraud to Autotrader's fraud department. OP, I'd advise you do the same.

Do you believe everything you hear/see..

Part of the online buying process also includes some common sense on the part of the buyer..

(eg. if the deal sounds too good to be true, it generally is) Esp. if you've already checked the kelly blue book value and seen such a large descrepancy..

Why are you going to waste any more of your time with the seller. No point negotiating unless you're just trying to F*(k with him!.

X2, if the car as good as he said or described then why would he not make more money on it buy selling it back to the stealership? even those crooks would pay higher than $11K he is listed for. he would at least get an offert of somewhere between $15K to $17K. my

LOL. No Dude. The ones on craigslist that are '07s with 15k on the odo, are selling for like $3600 - $4800

(which admittedly isn't much better than what we saw)

OMG...when I was selling my car last year on there...there are so many scammers out there. And yes, unless someone is "dumping" a car for a good reason (need to sell fast, divorce, leaving country etc) it's usually a scam. I had someone write to me say they would send me a check for double the amount and just take what I needed, they just needed my shipping address and full information. Obviously a fishing scheme and who knows what else. So I had fun with them and pretended I fell for it...etc...fun times...until I finally, after a week, wrote the chick and email telling her I knew she was a POS liar and scam artist and how dare they play people in this emotional and financial time of need etc where people are trying to conduct legitimate sales etc.

Needless to say she never responded after that.

Poor Antonio...getting divorced and now getting shafted out of 9 grand in equity in his car. Maybe he just doesn't know what it's worth.

MOST of the scams on craigslist were men/women in divorce situations.

I would ask him why the divorce is forcing the sale and why at such a low price. 2 can play that game.

at 19K with past 50K miles with us almost in the 3rd year production run of a new generation TL, I would be more inclined to believe this one. My frined just got an 07 for 25K but it was certified and it had 18K miles on it.

Just sold my 07 TL with Tech for the residual value at lease end through the dealership where I purchased my newTL. The Residual was $21,700 and the car had 15,800 miles on it. Dealer would have put it on the lot certified for about $26,000 but they would have had some room to play.
