Best race hands down for me was against a stock KBP TL-S 5AT.

We were dead even all the way up to about 105mph and we both shut down.

He was amazed a base TL could keep up with a TL-S (mods in sig)

I was going through turbobuick.com back to 2002 and looking at my old kills in the kill section. Many I forgot about until I read them again.

Car is an 84 GN with 87 engine. Junkyard 4.1L V6 block, stockish bottom end with a girdle and JEs. Fuel system includes dual Walbro 340s, 60lb injectors, and methanol injection, GT6776 turbo, home ported heads and intake, Powerstroke intercooler I made, flat tappet 212-212 cam, stock headers, 3" downpipe and exhaust. All in all about $3,000 in the engine, not too bad. Car was a daily driver for a while, idles smooth, sounds like a stocker with exhaust. Best ET was 10.60. Best mph (not on the same run) 127mph at 27psi. I never dyno'd it back then. Runs a little better now with a little less boost but it hasn't been to the track in a couple years.

Wins on the street:
Viper GTS
Lamborghini Murcielago (sp)
Many, many nitrous Mustangs
3 Ferraris.
Many nitrous LS1s
Many Vettes
2 turbo Porsches
Carrera GT (also owned one of his Ferraris)
Old street rods, one in particular, a blown big block in a tiny 1933 Ford.
Ricers that do a flyby after I put 20 cars on them.

On the track:
Lost plenty but notable wins include

A newer Viper on slicks
A few trailored Mustangs (mine is always driven to the track)
A friend's Brabus Mercedes CL65 with 704hp

Got to get it going again to (hopefully) spank some ZR1s. Engine and trans are freshened up but no money to finish the body work. I'm getting the bug again after tuning my friend's car and running a couple of the new Z06s.

Nice!

GN's are pretty quick.

My neighbour has a Regal that he converted to a GN.

Every time we I start up the supra he comes outside and just watches us, then right before he goes back inside he say's "Let me know when you're ready for me". He's a pretty cool guy but in time the supra's T88 turbo will tell.

When is Arnold going to pass legislation making it perfectly legal to shoot ricers that do that in your state?

Let's see...

I've beaten:

1. A Saturn Ion Redline....6-8 cars from 0-90 ish. He did a fly-by, waving at me out the window after I let off. He was my idol.

2. A 330 from ~60-100....pulled maybe two lengths.

3. A VR-6 Golf from 40-70...he let off and pulled in behind me.

4. A late 90's Dodge Ram (I dunno what he was smoking, I owned one of them and 60-95 took roughly three days) from 60 on....let off ~125....yeah I was feeling frisky that night.

A couple losses at the track from some cars that ran high 10's/low 11's. In a heads up time trial it's tough to not blow your launch against a car that's practically at the 330' marker when you're still spinning and trying to get out of first gear.

One of my favorite things to do when racing a potentially faster car was to tell them how hard my car launches and try and intimidate them into smoking the tires.

That's a good mind game, but if I said that about my FWD grocery getter they'd laugh at me. Maybe they'd be laughing so hard they'd actually screw up their launch.

Hey I hate cars, have you seen the new fast and the furious trailer, the one where they steal the gas tanker?

I think you'd be interested in watching it.

Never did any research about that. The 1J was free and it's JDM. My uncles ex-wife is stationed in Japan, so hse got me the hookup. Im getting a 97 with a 2J but since my uncle got divorced, i dont think the family excuse works.

The 2J is also JDM but i may have to cough of some cash for shipping. I really want to finish the 1J just to race my neighbour's Grand National Then I'll probably sell it to persue my dream which s the 97 with a 2J. Believe it or not I'm a toyota guy.

The 2J is also JDM but i may have to cough of some cash for shipping. I really want to finish the 1J just to race my neighbour's Grand National Then I'll probably sell it to persue my dream which s the 97 with a 2J. Believe it or not I'm a toyota guy.
I *think* what he meant was the SRTs blow off very easily. I hear them blowing off during normal acceleration which is weird for me since my car doesn't see boost during normal driving.

Do you know what's done to the GN? My friend's GN has only $1,500 in mods to the original engine and it's been 11.60. That giant T-88 on a little motor will probably slow you down signifigantly in the 1/4.

T- 88 is pretty big indeed but i plan to play with the boost levels a bit. I might just keep the ct26 stock turbo since the engine does not have that many miles on it and there's also the smaller turbo option maybe T-66. Only in Japan you find a 20 year old car with 53,000 miles

The GN. Im not into american muscle but i know its quick.

Its the same 4.1L V6 He has a 4 bbl Carburetor, Jegs headers with a 3" downpipe, Garret turbo, custom exhaust, Jegs shifter ( a two stage shifter i think) MSD ignition etc. I'll ask him. I know he has good street cred at the 18 mile track here in miami

LOL. I've seen some of the scenes. Looks like they used a real one for the non-crash scenes but the one in the tanker scene had many things showing that it isn't a real turbo car.

Now I'm waiting for the value of my car to double.

Seriously though, I'm not into those movies and I don't ever drive that car to the movies but I have plans to take it on opening day for a little fun.

LOL.....Fast and Furious 4. I guess it is kind of cool to get the original cast together. I'll watch it just for Jordanna Brewster. Michele Rodriguez is pretty hot for a tough chic, too. I'd let her spank me.

I still have to laugh at that whole series though. When Vin Diesel stood that Charger straight up in the air and rode it out, I couldn't stop laughing. That, and racing down city streets at like 200mph for a full three minutes.

I think when it comes to Supras, most people are Toyota guys, haha! BTW, I hope you know that the USDM 2Js > JDM 2Js.

It's something my friends and I joke about (SRT-4s). My friend's stock everything but exhaust and front mount '93 Sup ran a 12.0 @ 120 on DRs.

I think he's going to win. In any case, need a brand new T-88? .

Race him best 2 out of 3 and you will probably win when his MSD box leaves him stranded. The stock coil pack is working fine on our 800+rwhp car and the MSD is notoriously unreliable on these cars.

Jegs headers= Hooker= massive turbo lag. These cars don't benefit from headers until they're going faster than mid 10s. I thought all the Hooker headers ended up in the trash where they belong.

Can't have a 4bbl, all GNs were sequential fuel injected except for the non-turbo and super rare 4.1L 82 GN.

With the mods you mentioned, he either has a really mis-matched combo or he's running faster than 10.0s

Impressive, but will the stock twins trap 120mph? I thought they were tapped out a hair below that. Either way, that's an 11 second car with a good 60'.

Best run I've had to date was with an Evo VIII. He must have had an intake I could hear that thing spooling loud and clear. This is when I had just an intake and 1 passenger. From a 40 roll, he got the jump so about 1.5 cars at the top of 2nd..once I hit 3rd I started reeling him in and once I hit 4th it was even and he let off. I figured I'd pull up top on the Evo.

Other races I've had:

Charger SRT8 (I was stock..he got the jump again, not that it matters..about 4-5 cars 80-120)
R32 (pulled easily, even when I missed 4th..2.5 cars)
M35 (I was stock and was pulling steady from a 60 roll)
Auto G35s/350zs (pulled 2 cars from a 60 roll)
Friends RSX-s with exhaust (stock..pulled 2-3 cars from 60-100)

I think I've has others but I can't remember right now.

True he may not. I never really gave him or his car any attention since im into imports. Being raised in the islands ensures that. I'll ask him when i see him though

About the 2J's true somewhat but its going to Antigua first and its going to be rebuilt there by me and my uncles.. It a personal choice Im a toyota freak, if i wasnt i would drop an RB26DET in the supra
Toyota's are dead in the US except for the supra and the mr-2 so im stuck in a honda. the 97 might just stay in Antigua until we get it running in tip top shape.
