Best transmission oil to use on V6 6MTs???
Did a search, and most recent post was in 2004.
After doing my research, the only suitable oils (recommended for Hondas/Acuras) for our trannies are Amsoil MTS and Redline MTL. However, many old threads here kept mentioning a GM fluid (from syncromesh, to GMS, MTF FM, SFM FM...), but besides never seeing a specific model, couldn't find it's suitable to replace Honda's fluid. And I'd like to know if it's fully synthetic as well. The good thing is it's the only one available locally, therefore the cheapest (no s/h).
Do any of you are using one of those 3 fluids?
And if you're using GM, what's the name of it?
Reason I want to change is tranny gets balky when cold, especially 1st and 2nd. First if moving even at walking pace is almost impossible. When hot, no problems. Remember my '90 Accord coupe 5MT being like that too. Old threads said Honda fluid is too thick.
Thank you for your help.

GM Syncromesh Friction Modified for manual transmissions, a google search will even pop up the part number.
This fluid is approved for use in over 1,200 transmissions, or something like that.

Didn't dawn on me to search under 'GM', rather than tranny, transmission, trans, etc. Thank you for that link.
Well, since it's semi-synthetic, and I can get the fully synthetic Redline MTL (an official replacement for Honda/Acura MTF) for the same cost shipped, I'm going to order it and post my results. I don't have 3rd gear problem, but 1st and 2nd are difficult to engage when cold while moving even at 1 mph. Blipping helps, but it's annoying as hell. When fully warm zero problems, so it's got to be the fluid.
Will keep you posted folks. Need to order now to take advantage of 10% Ebay discount until midnight. Thank you very much for your great help.
