Hey everybody, Im planning to clear my headlights here in the next week or two on my 05 TL and while Ive got the headlights out I also am wanting to put some switchback LEDs in the front turn signals.

Ive done a little research about them on these forums but they are pretty dated at this point. So Im wondering if anyone has suggestions for good bulbs to get. Preferably Id want AO bulbs. Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind that the yellow plastic side piece of the headlight limits the colour output of switchbacks. For example if you have an Amber/White LED switchback it'll appear more as light-yellow/dark-yellow. You could replace it with a clear plastic piece but that requires you to split the headlights open. I use these ,
But any high-rated switchback on amazon should work just fine.

Also note that LED's draw such little current that it causes hyperflashing unless you install a resistor (cheap but a fire hazard and requires resistors for each LED ) or replace the indicator relay to an LED compatible one (more pricey but a single piece thats an OEM-like replacement).

and they've been all right. Bought them first time on August 29, 2020, eventually one failed so I bought second set on January 3, 2022 and had them on the car since then.

I find the Diode Dynamics LED Flasher is the easiest and safest option.

Thank you both for the replys. I am going to replace the amber plastic in the headlights with the clear pieces so the switchbacks should look fine. Also thank you so much for the link to the LED Flasher. I got resistors for my last car and they never worked (also this install should be much much easier lol). One last question, for the bulbs you did suggest, are they the ones that when you use your turn signal they go from white to amber? Or do they go white to off?

The ones I mentioned go from white to amber when flashing and back to white. You can search around to find an amber colour temp that best suits you. I will say if you're going through the hassle of opening the headlights you might wanna consider upgrading to the Morimoto led strip switchback. Looks alot cleaner imo. For eg.

Also for the LED relay, the factory one is pretty tight on there so you'll have to wiggle it aggressively for it to come out.

I do really like the look of those. I wish they were sequential and didnt just flash but Im guessing it wouldnt be too hard to find some that do that. I still have a bit of research to do but I probably wont do this for about another month or so as right now Im trying to dial in fitment for these wheels I got.
