Best settings thread
Everyone post what you think the best/ optimal setting for the TL are here:
1) Navigation: many say it takes you longer routes, in circles.... how do you guys set up your nav so that it works best to provide the quickest routes? How do you get the most options for routes? How do you avoid trouble spots?
2) Stereo: what setting give the best sound: bass, trebble, fade.......
3) Anything else you can change, what setting make it perform better

In terms of the stereo, there was a thread a while back that said put the subwoofer on -2 and the bass at -2 to take out any peaks in the bass. I did it and have to agree the mids are much better and the bass is much cleaner. Someone measured the bass response and found that there were two big peak (don't remember which frequencies) when all the setting were at zero.
TLover, I was gonna writing the same thing as you said. Those -2s were the setting I was gonna talk about. However, it may not fit for everyone's needs. Just FYI. Sorry, I forgot who contriubted that info.
Navi: I usually use Direct or Maximam Highway... they pretty cover all I want.

Have all the stereo controls on neutral except for the subwoofer which is up some (don't know how much). Got the car with 5 miles, and unless someone took the time to mess with the stereo, the subwoofer was set on max from the factory.
Speaking of stereo, seems like most of the XM stations are not that loud. I can turn my stereo almost all the way up, and it is by no means loud. I haven't even played a cd yet, but I sure as heck hope they play louder than XM. I have to say the stereo sound is clean, no distortion, that my non-audiophile ears can detect.
Regards,
