Best place to buy OSRAM CBI X D2S 5K bulbs

Headlight turned pink today.

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/my-headlight-turned-pink-872522/

Looking to replace them both. From what I have read, this is the best out there today if you want a little whiter and no drop in lumens.

Where should I get them? Motivemods.com and theretrofitsource.com both have them for about $185.

Thats a lot for a college student about to have to pay for his next semester of classes!

Anyone know of any discount codes for those sites, or any vendors that sell them? Even 10% off that price would help.

Thanks guys.

I think TRS is gonna be your best bet, they're not cheap, and if you go on ebay they might be knock offs. If you're on a budget, I'd get Morimotos... $45 for the 35 watt bulbs and you can get 5000K if you want, that's what I have, ran them on my last vehicle too zero complaints, basically the same quality as OEM and way cheaper. Google coupon codes for them, they always have a free shipping code.

I bought my 5k Osram CBI bulbs from theretrofitsource as well. They are worth every penny. Excellent light output and a nice sharp cutoff. I think they were about $200.

Don't cheap out on headlights. HID fogs are one thing you don't have to go expensive on, but lights that are very essential to you actually being able to see at night, I wouldn't buy inexpensive bulbs.

Actually just went into The Retrofit Source store in Atlanta. Spoke with the owner, who was a good guy. He showed me the difference between real and fake bulbs.

I ended up going with the Phillips 85122+ because of price. He knocked off a little bit because I bought them with cash.

I hope to install them this weekend. Thanks for the help guys.

Exactly. Zero complaints thus far. They also have a one year warranty, and with me being so close, i can just drive to their store and show them whats wrong.

Thats what really made me go with them. But its doubtful ill have any problem.

CBI's are a great bulb, very well worth the price. Philips did come out with a new bulb called the SVS a competition bulb for the Osram CBI's, it's supposed to be a little brighter than the CBI's, but it's only offered in the 4300K color.

I believe the Phillips were the OEM bulbs in this car.

The stock bulbs are Osram 66404 per JnC (AcuraZine vendor that does headlights).

If you can't afford the CBI bulbs then just don't get them and get the Phillips 85122+.

IIRC, most of these places that sell them are making little to no money from these bulbs considering they have to order them from Germany. $185 is cheap.

Don't get me wrong. 85122+ bulbs are great bulbs, the only downside to those is they throw off a yellowish tinge to them. They were my go to bulb before the CBI's that's for sure.

Those CBI's look sexy, Nate.

Will they have the same output with ZKWr lenses? Might be the next mod that I do.

While that is probably the best comparison shot I have seen, the difference between what is on the ground kinda give it less credibility.
The phillips would probably look much whiter if they were on snow too and vice versa.

Im still happy with my purchase either way though!

Yeah I hear ya on this. I don't have 85122+ anymore so I can't take comparison shots. This was just to give you an idea of the color difference.
Here's another one.
