best place to buy 2005 tl in Houston
I was talking with some of the dealerships. Which one is best in Houston to buy from? Sterling Mccall quoted me real high price but they don't offer any free oil changes or maintenance. John Eagle Acura has reasonable price but does give 2 years of oil changes for free. the Acura dealership on Northside gives years free maintenance. Champion Acura I know nothing about. Has anyone gotten any good deals from any of these dealerships?

Houston 2005 TL
CATMAG
I looked at Eagle and Sterling McCall. Both were unwilling to deal as the TL is in demand in Houston. I went by both lots several times in a two week period and they are selling as fast as they come in. Eagle's best offer was $32,900 for a TL without NAV and SM came in at $32k. SM also seemed to be a little more professional. I purchased a NBP with Ebony AT. We have had it a couple of weeks and if the wife will get out of the car, I may get to drive it someday.
Good Luck!

I purchased my SSM 05TL Navi with wheel locks from Don Mcgill Acura back in mid-Nov '04. Talked with Troy Cecil over the phone and told him I'd pay $33.6K + TTL. He talked to his manager and called me back in 10 minutes and said he'd do it. Probably could have gotten other minor accessories like truck tray or splash guards thrown in, but didn't force the issue. The dealership, if it hasn't already, is in the process of moving to a new location, so if you buy a car that's on the lot, you're more inclined to get a better deal so that they won't have to pay to have it moved to the new location when they relocate.

I used an agent that got me a really low price at Sterling McCall. I would highly recommend him. You can view a written quote that the broker got for me through the Fleet Manager from Sterling McCall. http://www.havokgroup.com/phong/quote.jpg

TL-SHAWD 6MT Rocks!
I bought my last 3 TLs from John Eagle,
I know the current manager, and he treats me and other people really nice
with good deals... (his name is Barry Bailey)
just tell him you are coming recommended by me...
Andres Martinez
tell him I suggested he gives you a good deal...and you will see a change.
For service I have noticed Sterling McCall ACURA has better prices and they go by the MID recommendation, not by the mileage, the way it should be.
Gillman Acura wanted me to pay $80 just to look under my 2000 TL to see if the exhaust was broken (I pushed the pipe in backing out...), I hate rip offs...

I bought my 99 TL and then my 05 TL w/Navi (bought Dec 28, 2004) at John Eagle. With the 99, I got all maintenance for 3 years, but now you will get 2 years of oil changes instead. I got about $1,800 off sticker, plus free trunk tray. Also got splach guards at 50% off (roughly cost to them).
The service I have gotten has been very good over the years. I did have one run-in when they didn't want to give me a loaner, but that was 4 years back.
On the 05 TL deal, the sales manager ticked me off when it came to the trade in of the 99. He gave me a rediculous number, and claimed the 99s are hard to sell. Interseting that he didn't have a single one on the used lot, and I know they sell well. He finally got to the price I wanted and expected based on my research. That was a waste of 15 minutes, and I let Acura know about it in my survey.
Total time from walk in to walk out on the 05 was about 45 minutes (plus the time it took to do the walkthrough on the car).
They are a smaller dealer volume wise, and you could use that in your negotiations. I let them know that one of the other dealers was close to my office, and that I prefer to work with a dealership than can offer me more attention. All they had to do was give me a fair deal that met my expectations.
I'd recommend them, but have your research ready.

from denver to houston
I just moved to Houston from Denver. Took my 2000 TL to Gillman and talket to a guy named Jesus in service. I wanted to have the windows tinted so he set me up with a lonar vehicle so I could go about my daily business wile they were doing the work. Very easy and super nice!
One of the other customers that was there said that Gillman's service department was rated #10 in customer satisfaction in the Nation last month and #13 the month before that.
Wile I was there, I took the advice of some of you and talked with Troy. I did not know he was the internet sales manager. He was very nice. Gave me a very good price on a TL non-navi. He said he would pay me back for the tint if I decided to buy a new TL. There was noo pressure at all. I WILL BE BACK THERE IN A WEEK TO GET THE CAR!

I went to Sterling McCall and felt like I was a little rushed and not that impressed. On the other hand, having a face to face conversation with the GM and Service Manager before I left was very courteous.
As far as service goes, my family members always go to Sterling McCall even though its location is very central and not the closest. I have heard nothing bad and always good things about their service department and can't say the same about the others.
I'm taking mine there when the time comes, and I live in Katy.

Got mine at Sterling McCall as I saw the price of havokgroup's thread. I dealt straight with the fleet manager. Got mine for $33,677+TTL. You got to be careful when signing paper. They throw in some of the bogus charges into the deal if you don't read the papers before signing them. I got nothing throwing in. As far as service, I got my knock sensor wire bitten by the rat and cost me $250 which is pretty good price comparing to other people prices $350 from this forum. I had only 2250K on my 05' RRD/Parch/Nav and planing to do the oil myself.
