a lot of guys use 6000k HID Bulbs for the headlights and either 6000k or 3000k HIDs for Fogs. the 6000k/6000k Combo is really nice and clean, I would suggest LED Turns to also match the 6000k color. A lot also used the 3000k for some contrast which I have. Look at my Progress thread linked on my signature and you'll see my lights. I have 8000kHeadlights/3000kFogs and I am happy

BTW, Thread probably will be moved to the default topic of 3G TLs...

I really love 4300k headlights with 3000k fogs; especially on lighter cars such as WDP and SSM.

Not a huge fan on NBP; I'd go matching.

Why 4300k? Well, it gives you the most visibility, while still looking "cool".

The Osram CBI bulbs and Philips 85122+s are GREAT.

Why 3000k? Well, the yellow really helps visibility in bad weather.

Functional, yet stylish (at least on light cars).

hey jsut wanna give some 2cents on the accord fog lights. it may seem hard as hell at first, but as long as you prep it properly and take your time its not too bad. we rushed the first time i tried it, and it came out looking horrible so yeah just take your time. took us about 5 hours the 2nd time to make it fit smoothly and have the area that we cut out smooth

when i had my TL, i was running 6k/6k.

if i still had it, i wouldve gone back to stock or 5k

in your case, i would get some Osram bulbs/zkw projector lenses and 3k fogs

Lots of trimming (using a dremel) and creativity is needed (for the mounting).

The whole project spanned over a full week.

That's because I was too chicken to cut more even though I knew I had to (just in case I mess up).

Take your time. I probably spent a full 24 hours working on them to get them "perfect" in my eyes.

Also, make sure you point them forward as much as possible. <--- VERY IMPORTANT.

I just recently bought Optilux Extreme Yellow 9006, I have an 04, that I have to put in yet. I think they are ~2500k color, in a xenon bulb. If it cools down later hopefully,I will install them and take a pic. I know this pic was from here, just dont remember whos it was, anyways, this was the pic that sold me;

I have an 07 type s ASM and I too am wanting to do something with the headlights particularly the fogs. This is just a bulb swap correct?? I am some what mechanically inclined but this is by far the nicest vehicle I have ever owned and I've only had her for about 2 weeks so I don't want to do anything to extreme I like the look of the 6,000k headlight and fog, where should I buy these from.

Thanks

Well it depends on what look you are going for:

1. Functional that looks good
2. Looking Good
3. Ricer
4. Super Duper Ricer

1. 5000K OSRAM CBI D2S Bulbs as Main lights, 3000K Bulbs (HID or Halogen) for fogs

2. Looking good, 5000-6500K HID's as main lights and matching fog lamps

3. 7,000-10,000K HID's for both

4. 10,000+ K HID's everywhere or odd colors such as green or pink

Doesn't seem like they are that yellow to have film. I may be wrong but Ive seen these 3000k yellow way brighter with film. Kinda reminds me of mines and I dont have film Yet!

Hey guys, new to the forum and recent owner of a sweet 2008 TL-type S. I've never been into mods all that much, but this car begs for a few changes. Mainly I'd like to get some LEDs added/changed for the front headlights.

I'm not really comfortable doing the changes myself, so any idea how this could typically cost to install if I ended up buying the parts myself?

Cheers,
Yves

DDM 6000k Headlights, DDM 3000K Fogs, eBay (GT Autohause) switchbacks

The color/brightness in these photos doesn't match what it actually looks like, but its close. They were taken with my cell phone.

Guys, do the HID foglight blind oncoming traffic at all or point higher on the sides of the car and have any of you been stopped for them? It's hard to tell from the pics.

Haven't been flashed yet...the fogs don't seem to throw light up and as much as they do out to the sides...

Currently sporting OSRAM CBI's for low beams and I dig 'em. As someone stated above--they're 5k. They aren't the cheapest bulbs around but they're worth it imo (especially since my vision at night is rather poor and these are wicked bright). My Dad just got a new S550 and I loved the look of his headlights so I went with what was stock on his car. Best I could determine they're OSRAM CBI's (D1S). I'm looking into getting some 6k fogs here shortly but not 100% certain yet. Best of luck to you...

Those who have 3k HID fogs...from what I've heard/seen, the light output looks white in the housing, but yellow on the ground, similar to the cell phone pics BSpecialist posted above. If you put some yellow 3M film over the fogs, will the light in look more yellow in the housings, or will it still be more white?

I want the color to to match my Nokya 2.5k yellow halogen fog bulbs...

i've noticed this too after putting a ddm 3000k in my 04's fogs. I had problems getting the bulbs seated properly (or so I thought) so I took the bumper off and pulled the headlights to make sure they were seating properly. Turns out the passenger side wasnt in all the way and the beam was actually lower than what it was supposed to be at. Originally the driver's side was higher than the passenger side, but it turned out that was properly seated/normal.

Now that i know they're seated properly there's still quite a bit of yellow light thrown on either side, enough to color the entire car on the side of me yellow. Havent gotten flashed yet though. That said they make a huge difference..i turn the fogs off and it becomes noticeably darker.

With the yellow film, they look exactly like the Nokian 2.5k bulbs. I had those on for a month before switching to hid (they just weren't bright enough).

Quick Reply: Best hid+fog light combo?
