Believe it or not, a question/concern regarding tint that I have not seen

I have a 2006 WDP/6M/Navi on order and I want to get the windows tinted all around.

My question/concern is regarding the back window defroster. If for whatever reason the aftermarket installers screw up the tint, will they be able to remove it without damaging the defroster? Has this been an issue with anyone?

I am assuming the defroster in the TL is the same technology I have in my intergra, basically an electrical conductor glued to the inside of the windshield.

Yes ... I had my whole rear window tint removed ... they used a chemical to loosen the tint and then steel wool to remove the tint ... no problems with the defroster at all ...

just watch them and make sure that they dont scrape the rear window with a razor blade.

those electrical elements will come right off.

Thanks for the input, that makes me feel a little better about going to a third party.

Even if they do fuck it up. There is a special paint you apply like white out that you can repair the connection with. Basically use tape to make the straight connecting line then paint and dry. So don't get too worried about it.

like AAP stated most shops will do it this way.

I had to remove tint from an old vehicle so that my friend could retint it. The tint usually pulls right off then you just use some Dirtex and a razor blade for the side windows. For the rear you use Dirtex and 00 steel wool and it comes right off with no problems.

I guess there shouldn't be any problems. I appreciate the help.

Thanks again
