Driving down the highway and i just get in the right most lane to pass and he guns it, so i down shift to third and we go, he tails me the whole way but we had to keep slowing down due to traffic, wasnt really a high speed race, mainly just a drivers duel. my exit comes up, he follows me all the way to the gas station and asks me if i want to "run him officially" i, of course, decline because im pretty sure he will own me from a dig. amd i wrong?

i see. RSX-S with CAI and me (TL-P) with CAI, headers and IM/TB spacers. we pretty much even.

now once he puts on his RH, thats a different story. RSX-S from a dig aren't that great, not bad but isn't the greatest since the DC5 have more top-end power. thats why k-pro or reflash (not sure) is there to help their low-end.

Seeing that you had only a CAI, i will assume that the RSX-S driver was lacking the driver mod. I drive a RSX-S daily..and they are very very comparable to the 2002 TL-S. Plus, it feels as though it can go through +100mph speeds faster than the TL.

I ran with a RSXp about a year ago and im a TLp also ... Both of us stock at the time except for both of us having intakes and he had a CF Hood ... we ended up stopping in the middle of the freeway and lined up ... i jumped the gun bcus there was a car coming behind me then he gunned it as soon as i did ... in a way you could say i got him off the line ... i had about a car ahead all the way to 115 ... i was still making my way up the gauge although fairly slowly compared to the RSX ... after 115 he zooms past me going at least 125 and still climbing he kicked my ass even after i jumped ahead ! WOW i want a RSX ! i never seen him again since haha

RSX base and RSX-S are like.. literally two different cars. RSX base doesn't have i-VTEC like how the RSX-S does. the RSX base is pretty much a sporty economy car. unless you boost RSX base or do N/A bolt ons with kpro.

^^^ Exactly. You can't compare a Base w/ the S. Although they look strikingly similar, they are very different performance wise. If the base races an S stock for stock, the base better have some lube.

I was dead even with an RSX-S on my old BHG motor and it went similar to what you're saying. I was slightly, *slightly* pulling in second, third we were even, but once we hit 100 (acceleration wall on my old setup) he hit 120 by the time I hit 110 and but stayed about 1 to 2 car lengths ahead of me until we both shut down.

~Cheers~

He also has 2 more gears than you...
Neither cars are fast from a dig.
They are quick, but a TL-P (5spd) should be able to keep up w/ it and maybe pull abit if you get going fast enough....... RSX's are way too easy and cheap to make them go fast. It's not fair.

i own rsx. not that cheap compared to the good ol days with civic's n integra's. i use to pay350-450 for shocks and springs. now for the type-s its like 1000. or 300 for an intake instead of 150. but the car is quick. just took out a G35gt coupe last week.
