2 professional drivers going at it. I think this is the most accurate source. Both automatic. I raced many is350s. I have beaten every single one of them. Don't see why is350 claim they can beat 335.
I think most of the time a 335 will win. The particular race I was involved in was my friend not being sure the 335 wanted to race so he hesitated for a split second. It was honestly the closest race I've ever been in. Once the 335 pulled off the start I don't think either car gained or lost an inch to 100mph. Again, this particular IS350 seems to pull very hard compared to others I've read about. Unfortunately we have yet to race another IS to see the difference.

After driving both, I think the 335's top end is stronger but we shut down a little after 100mph.

I guess we will have to prove this. Going to have to race my friends is350 from dig and roll. GOing to have to record this. He just got his is350 couple weeks ago so probably gotta wait till 2k miles to break in. IMO is350 doesn't respond as fast as the 335i. the paddles on the is350 are horrible compared with the 335.

I agree that the paddles are horrible. Next time I take a test drive in a 335, I'll have my friend in the IS350 waiting around the corner for a rematch. For some reason the last time I test drove one the dealer let me and a friend take it by ourselves. I've bugged them for so long now that they're offering me one for 41K.

the transmission is probably one of the weakest part of the IS350, when it is in the right gear, it's pretty fast. But over 100mph, even the G35 is faster.

^ i doubt it. g35 and 350z has no torque for a car their size. they weigh just as much as a TL

ill take the 07 350z 6-speed n run any stock 335 out there..auto or manual...the beemers goin down..but the Zs also 2 door coupe
no power/torque for their size is a mustang GT...31- hp out of a v8 and the car is a sled..nissan/lexus have made the same power with a NATURALLY ASPIRATED 3.5L V6...props to the Japs

I understand what you're saying but the driving experience with the 335 is totally different than the TL, 350 Z, and IS350. The Bimmer is extremely torquey with power anywhere on the tach. In an all out acceleration match, who knows but for normal driving the 335 moves around effortlessly. I think the reason for the turbos is power under the curve. The M3 is for people who want all out performance.

My cousin and one of my friends both have auto TLs and i put lenghts on them everytime we run. Auto TLs are slow.......for the 6MT guys, u should know what im talking about. That manual transmission makes a world of a difference!

lol. I hear ya. Im dying to run another 6mt just to see the outcome of a driver's race. My financial advisor and one of my good friends (whom is a cop) both have 6MTs. Both are down for the run but we never get around to it!

Wow, pretty good but I have to say a good driver would have beaten you. Some stock 350's are running 13.3's.. Exhaust mods put's her into the 12's.

There is ONE IS350 on clublexus that got into the 12's. Temperature, track conditions etc were all aligned for that anamoly. And it hasn't been reproduced again by the same car/driver. You make it sound like you can throw a Tanabe catback on any IS350 and hit the track and bag a 12 second time slip; not the case.

So from what I've read, most people here don't think " type-s09's " supercharged tl stood a chance against that is350?

From what I remember, type-s09 is a great driver and hit 13.9 either stock or very few mods. With him behind the wheel and a blower, he definately has a chance of beating an IS350.

type s09, your car is set up nicely! I wouldn't be suprised if you take down a 335! So how'd you get your SC to work on a type s?
