Does anyone else think that there TL has a wierd beam pattern on the ground. Mine don't light up the ground until you get maybe eight feet away from the ground. I'll put up pics if anyone may want to see this. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem! See ya everyone.......

I take it you're referring to the HIDs ... if you suspect it's out of whack take it back to the dealer for readjustment. You might use the search feature to see if anyone else has problem, if it is one. Some folks have noticed the left side is slightly lower than the right. It was probably done that way so it doesn't blind oncoming traffic. Check out this link: HID

It's normal for the driver's side to be lower than the passenger side. When shining on a wall, the beams should look like this:

__/------

If it looks like that, leave 'em alone, they're fine.

No, it's not normal for them not to "..light up anything until like 8 feet away from the front of the car".

Yes it is normal for them to produce less light "8 feet away from the front of the car".. actually more than 8 feet. The reason is because the TL uses a projector lens for its HID lamps and not a reflector.

The lighting on the TL is different from any car I've ever owned. The posts above are correct, but if you think it's a problem, I'd check with your dealer just to make sure.

Try to get them re-adjusted by the dealer, they do cut a little low even stock from the factory, just remember with these HID's if you have them misdirected, you can really blind the hell out of oncoming traffic, so dont play with them yourself. You can try adding a HID foglight, which will help spread light out to the left and right of your car.

Finally - because they are projector lamps and do not use a reflector there is less "wash" from the lights .. they are somewhat focused and the light does not actually illuminate the ground directly infront of the car. The fogs help to fill in this void. What you have described is normal and not really an issue during night time driving (as hopefully you would have seen whatever is in the road long before it was 8 feet away, and if it crawled out in less than that you wouldn't have time to stop/avoid anyway)
