Back seat questions

So basically I bought the 07 TL-S and needed to put some side skirts inside of it and realized I couldnt due to the fact that I couldnt figure out if the back seat folded down or not, and if so, how the hell to do it haha.

I know the center arm rest opens up, but that is pretty useless.

Thanks in advance.

You can remove the seat completely in about 30 minutes (if it's your first time doing it) but nope, no fold down.

I do like how the fold down arm rest has a ninja cup holder.

I am glad I don't use my car to haul anything otherwise I would be pissed seat doesn't fold down.

But I don't so I have a arm hole to reach the cooler in the trunk.

Yah, I really wish the TL had fold down seats. One of the few things they really got wrong.

The TL doesn't have a fold down backseat? You gotta be kidding me. That might be deal-breaking material. Lol.

What's up with that? Who does that? My brother's Taurus is the same way. It just seems like something that would come in handy. "Oh shit, we forgot about folding the backseat! Ah, fuck it. We'll just work in a small pass thru."

I had heard that the fold down seats were removed from the TL design to help maintain body stiffness-- it's one of the differences that makes the TL handle so well for a FWD car and which sets it apart from an Accord V6.

I heard the lack of a back seat fold down is for sound deadening benefits, as there's less gaps? not sure about that one though. I kinda doubt its for performance because when you remove the back seats the pass through hole is still kinda big, so why couldnt they simply add a hinge on the back seats to let it fold down?

This was one issue that i overlooked when I bought my TL 4 months ago. Coming from an Audi C5 A6 that pretty much had every option, I could not believe that the TL did not have this feature. I know it's not comparing apples to apples, but you would think a mid size car of this caliber should come with this feature....

Must be why they used the MDX in the Avengers movies instead of the TL.
No fold down seat for their gear.
