back bumper color...
my WDP back bumper seem out of color from the body, i bought the car in OCt2009 with a clean carfax from an older guy, he took very good care of the car, beside the driver seat, the front and back passenger seat looks as if no one have ever sit on them before. i also notice that my back bumper is always the dirtiest when i wash my car. does anyone else have out of color back bumper?

Typically most WDP TL's do not match body and bumper. I believe it is from the difference in materials being painted, as the body of the car is metal, the bumpers are more of a plastic, so it's difficult to match the colors from factory.

Just speaking of the WDP, and there are other colors, look closely as the front and rear bumpers are a different shade when matched to the body. If the front bumper is the same color as the body, then it's been repainted.
When new, there is no excuse for Acura not being able to match the body color as the base material is of no consequence. Other manufacturer's have no problem with the match.
Do a search and you'll find many threads on this subject.

THIS is exactly correct. The paint will look different on metal VS plastic, regardless of color. its not just our acuras, its almost all cars.

I agree with you 100% ... I have a hunch that its because the bumpers aren't painted from the same batch of paint as the body and 10 to 1 painted and made in a outsourced factory.

Take a look at other White Peal paints e.g. Escalade, there is no difference, and the base material is not an excuse, as body shops have no problem matching the body color, if they take their time and do testing. Even our 2008 Kia knock around vehicle, which is white, has the same color, body/bumpers.

That is exactly 100% INCORRECT. Yes certain substrates could possibly make a color look ever so slightly different, but the substrate does not change the color one single bit. The WDP issue and similar issues, are not metal vs plastic substrate issues what so ever. It just sounds believable to the average consumer. The bumpers are painted incorrectly by Honda MFG. The color difference is within their acceptability limits, and deemed ok to sell as is. You could say they set bar way too low for paint issues. High end body shops color match bumpers and misc. parts all day, regardless of substrate types. A high end body shop would never let a car go with a such a drastic color difference between adjacent body panels.

I detail a lot of cars and the Acura/Honda line is the worst for this .. My daughters Ridgeline has mismatched body colors all over and its burgundy.
My white cheap olds is fine.

wow..even the buildings color matches your car...good to know mine is not the only one, i dont feel like an outcast now...i dont know if other people notice it but i do because it's my car and i pay a little more attention to it. as i'm walking toward my car in the parking lot, it kind of annoy me..it like walking around with a white Hanes t-shirt with a yellow stain
