"B" Service in Maryland

Ok. It's time for me to get a "B" service done (oil change, rotation etc). I'm thinking about having a dealer do this. This my first service since buying the car 1 month ago (2005 TL 35K miles). I prefer to choose my own oil and filter. Will dearlers use install my oil and filter? I'm closest to Rosenthal Acura and another dealer in Ellicott City. Has anybody done this at their dealer?

Why goto a dealer for such a simple thing? I goto my local mechanic with my own Oil and Filter and he changes it for $10.

I do agree, but I am wondering if dealers will do that.

Doubt they will let you use your own parts, Iam guessing because they warranty all their work and only Honda/Acura OEM parts.

Give Rosenthal a call. Acura West in Ellicot City has been hit or miss for me. Otherwise, check out the attached link for a good Honda/Acura mechanic that I have used for major repairs/service when I had my Integra, and MDX. The mechanic is located in Rockville, MD.

I use Rosenthal exclusively for all of my warranty work. I go to others for routine maintenance. But the A1 & B1 I go to Rosenthal for because I have free oil changes. THEY WILL LET YOU USE YOUR OWN PARTS! I do it all the time. I let them do the work, but I use my stuff.

So no problem.

Awesome! Thanks for the info! I'm going to be moving to Philly soon and I wonder if there's a Honda/Acura specialist up there? I guess thats another thread.

In the PHL area there is AH Motorsport, http://ahmotor.com/.

I have little experience with them, but have friends who use them for all non-warranty work.

Thanks. I contacted them and they perfer to use OEM parts but will install whatever you want. Seems like a quality shop. I'll check them out when I get to Philly. Rosenthal Acura wants $148. I have a mechanic here in MD that's pretty good so I left the car there this morning with the "B" list and also asked him to put on some wheel locks while he's rotating tires. I'll find out how much he wants this afternoon.

In Harrisburg, PA area...

I don't know which would be closer; Philly or Harrisburg from where you live (Baltimore from Hbg. is only 1:15). I go to Bobby Rahal Acura locally and I paid roughly $160 for the 20,000 mile service.

My
Personally, I prefer to have everything done at the dealership so I have records when it comes to trade in time; a little more costly, but worth it for me.
