AV6 Transmission Swap

AV6 Transmission Swap
Hey Guys!
My Transmission blew up on my 06 TL 5AT and ive been looking at options with replacing it. The quotes that ive gotten to rebuild the transmission is more than the car is worth at this point so ive settled with replacing with a used / recycled transmission from the wreckers.
In my area I haven't had much luck with finding a transmission from a TL but I was able to find several from 2006 2007 Honda Odysseys and Accords. Is there anything I should know when swapping either of these transmissions over? Best price for an Accord Transmission I can find is $750 with 125k miles, but I can get an Odyssey Transmission with 80k Miles for $350, so a little bit of work might be worth it in this case. Ive already pulled the blown transmission from the TL
Thanks,
Jakob

Okay, First do you have a way to pick up the transmission and bring it back to your place? or leave it in the back of a truck with a cover on it??
Did you remove your transmission yourself? Are you going to do the work?
Buying a use transmission from a salvage yard is a great idea. I would consider it myself because of the cost. But, what I would personally also do is buy a master rebuild kit. I believe for the 5-speed auto it is Baya/Maya although I could be wrong. As well as read reviews online about reputable transmission shops on google reviews, and yelp. Me, I would Gather my things Tranny, rebuild kit, and ask the shop to modify it for high performance see what kinda things they can do (Supply better torque converter, sandwhich plate, sensors, tighten bands, put in racing clutches). And would also provide them with the rebuild kit, if they do not have one available at the shop at the moments notice. Most shops will not use customer supplied parts.
If they refuse to use the Kit and you really like that shop and want to go with them no problem Just return it. But, make sure you return it before the 30 days or whatever period you have to return it.

the transmission is a BDGA, I just rebuilt mine. If your from Canada Ontario. I'd say send me your transmission and I'd rebuild it for you. Am a transmission mechanic so I do this stuff all day long. Only thing is you never know what you get buying used
and putting all that work in to find out the trans is no good.
