Automatic Tranny RPM question
Hey guys. I just got a TSX and I was wondering if any of you can test out the TL with automatic transmission and hold the speed at exactly 60 mph.
The TSX with the auto tranny at 60 mph does exactly between 2000 and 2100 RPM. (about 2050 RPM)
I am curious what the RPM of the TL is because I have been told the fuel efficiency of the two cars is very similar even though the TL is much more powerful with 270 horsepower compared to the 200 horsepower of the TSX.
Thanks.
Carlos

My 2004 5AT TL with about 12,500 miles turns exactly 1,550rpm at 60mph. Stays right there as long as the speedo is on 60. We don't have any hills here in Florida, so this is dead level roads only.

Thanks Ron. Wow! Only 1550 RPM at 60 mph? That is a significant difference to the 2050 RPM of the TSX. No wonder the fuel efficiency is very similar to that of the TSX.
