automatic headlight shutoff

I have it setup to go off in 15 sec. When i come back to the car the headlights automatically come back on once the door is open. Can anyone think of whether this is harmful to my lights, car etc... if I decide to be lazy and just leave them running all day?

My dealer actually said to do that.

But it affects the Nav screen when it is on Auto so I rather not.

I just set mine from 15 to 0.... turns the headlights off right away.

well i don't think they can run all day because it automatically shuts off if the car is locked or unlocked...i have mine to automatically shut off after 60 seconds but sometimes i just press the LOCK BUTTON again and that turns it off (so that way i control the timing, 14 seconds, 28 seconds and so forth...) just curious, but how does that affect the navigation screen?

Nav screen has different background for day and night and day and night are dependent on if the headlights are on or off.
