Autolumination or iJDMTOY
So i'm coming into my final decision for switchback turn signals. Since V-leds no longer makes the type 1 turn signals (which would have been perfect), i'm deciding either on autolumination.com or iJDMTOY (known on ebay as Motoring Max) for my switchbacks.
Based on experience with these companies' products, especially their switchback turn signals, which do you guys recommend? Pix to accompany your responses are welcome!
I'm looking at the 48-LED bulbs from either company, also interested if anybody has experience with autolumination's 20 Led Tower II.
(PS: I know about autolumination's crappy customer service, but i'm not too worried about it)
Thanks in advance!

Jeff, I've also had a decent experience with Autolumination.com. I've had issues with the switchback bulbs burning out. But when I wrote to Tracy at Autolumination.com, I sent the bulbs back and they credited my account.
Here's pics of my LED switchbacks....

Rocky is the master at this guys! Follow his lead-I have been dealing with Tracy at Autolumination.com. I must have gotten lucky, because I sent one set of LEDs back for a refund and one set of DRL bulbs back and got a refund on both. Tracy will be getting a 2nd set of LED switchbacks back for a refund from me after Christmas. I've ordered a 3rd set of LED switchbacks from the yesterday. This time, I ordered the 20 bulb LED's for $20 each. The 48's both burnt out and also caused one of my fuses under the hood to burn out. It caused all of my interior lighting to go dark. I did check V-LEDs.com too-their switchbacks were $70 each.

^^^No, I didn't realize that. It looks like I'll be sending them back then.

the 60's will fit but don't use them. Tracy told me the 60's are not compatible with acura's. I tried using them before knowing this and now my driver side signal hyper flashes while the pass side blinks normally so my guess is it fried the relay. I'll know for sure after tomorrow cause I ordered another relay. I'm also gonna try testing the circuit too. But stay away from the 60's got the 48 led switchbacks. Something I also noticed was that v-leds has only the 60 led lights so before you order them make sure they got the 48 led bulbs.

An update and a question.
OK guys, I am on my 3rd set of LED switchback bulbs for my turn signals from Autolumination.
The first set I got were 60's, which did not work. They malfunctioned-meaning the amber bulb eventually burnt out. I sent them back to Autolumination and got a refund.
I'm not sure about the 2nd set of LED switchback bulbs (if they were 60's or 48's). They also malfunctioned-just like the 1st set.
Then I ordered the 20's. But Fulani pointed out in this thread that they are a wider bulb than will fit in the bulb housing. So I sent them back and got the 30's instead.
I have not installed the 30's yet because I discovered that the wiring harness on the driver's side of the turn signal had a short in it. So ACURA replaced both wiring harnesses yesterday.
So now, I've got these 30 bulb LED's ready and waiting for installation. My question is-do I install them?
Will they work and not malfunction/burn out?

It would probably be cheaper to install a mutli die LED array and a simple controller. Most of these LED sites are just resellers.. I bet the high failure rate is due to poor QA & stress testing. The reseller shops for the cheapest available components.. the mfg with the lowest price is able to offer cheap components undercutting their competition by skimping on the QA testing requirements / cutting material costs, which leads to a higher failure rate. I see this everyday and I work with almost every component mfg & odm out there.

Can you elaborate on the multi-die LED and controller please?

sure.. basically get a multi die array or a split array where one array segment is ultra bright white LED's & the other is amber.. combine that with a simple microcontroller with at least 4 I/O ports, some resistors / resistor array, maybe a LED driver or a relay depending on the desired setup. For the normal instance it would be ultra bright white output, for the turning signal it would be the amber output.
If it's a multi die array you can program a myriad of colors which could be cool for show purposes. The way you dictate the color is the frequency of the current output to the individual die (r,g,b).. high freq pulse red, mid freq pulse green, low freq pulse blue = amber, high freq pulse r,g & b = white.
The easier & simple route is the split array but definitely not as cool as the multi die array. The modification would be minimal and would probably be much more robust then the current kits. It takes some planning but it's definitely not as difficult as it may seem & probably cheaper.. plus no customer service run around or waiting. I'd be pretty interested in seeing a bad switchback.. I'd be willing to pay shipping if someone were willing to send a bad one to me. I could tell you the exact point of failure. I have xray analysis at my disposal as well..

Well I just sent back the 60's yesterday so I gotta wait for the 48's. If these blow out too then I'm scratching the whole switchback bulb setup altogether. I did figure my problem out with the hyper flashing though when I put the switchback in it must have pushed the prong down inside the socket so it wasn't making contact with the other bulb.

Thanks Majofo. I've got these 30's waiting to be installed. I might do that today and see what happens. If they burn out, I would ship one to you. Then I'd try to get Buda to help me with your suggestion above (multi-die array).

Steven what size resistors are you using because CltotheTL32 was using the 6 ohm/50 watt resistors with the 48's and was having a problem so he switched to 6 ohm/ 100 watt resistors. those are hard to find now but I actually found a set on ebay and got them for mine. even fulani is using 4 ohm/ 100 resistors. maybe you need to change yours just a thought.

Good call buddy...I'm not sure what size they are, but I'm going to hold off for now putting in the new LED switchbacks until Buda and I can check them out. I'll show him your posting about resistor sizing. Did CLtotheTL's problems go away when he switched resistors?

Steven check this thread CLtotheTL32 started maybe this might help you. If you need the name of the ebay seller where i got my resistors let me know.

This guy has great products. His switchbacks are also the V1s.

Why are you buying resistors with that much power? You don't need that much.
Get these. I have these and my friend's do also and they work fine.

Guys, did we decide that the Type S is different than the base TL? That may be the reason for the higher resistance, TLin401.

autolumination just received my bulbs back today so I probably wont get the new ones back until the end of the week hopefully. but right now I have the 6 ohm/100 watt resistors installed and those are watts I'm gonna use. I also have the 6ohm/50watt resistors but i'm not using them fo rthe moment.

Cuban, if I need bigger resistors, will these work for me?
