You got it. I am already planning to take a good batch of pics but am trying to find a good loication, something that noticeably shows that I am in Germany, or at least Europe. Maybe a castle in the background or something like that. Honestly as long is the weather is dry I go 150 every time I get on the autobahn. I try not to sustain it too much though, just get my fix and slow it down to 120 or so, I just dont want to be unnecesarily wasting gas and running my engine so fast for too long.

BMW > TL in Germany....

Yeah its actually against the law in Germany to pass on the right. You can get ticketed if you run out of gas too. You pass then get back in the right lane. Unless you're doing warp nine like Mr Fourplay.

But there isnt much left of the autobahn thats no restrictions.

I envy you, to be back on the autobahn would be a great thing. You're gonna hate coming back...

First of all, I love your video. Must've been awesome experience. Very nice work.

I bet your fuel line/system gets stay clean due to lots of highway driving and high speeds, lol! It's actually a good thing for the car, hell a lot better than Stop-and-Go Stop-and-Go.

You are using some high grade synthetic oil, right? Especially driving that fast good oil will help it protect..

and Oh yeah... take your pics in some nice area in Germany, like in front of the castle! lol!! That would be absolutely awesome.

And yeah, I know that European drivers are smart. A lot of Americans here (especially women) think the inside lane in the highway is the slow lane, not a passing lane. They think backwards. Also they think they are the president or something. They drive in the inside lane cruising at low speed and blocking the lane. I have gone 130mph with my infiniti g20 a couple of times in the past, but in an open freeway with very few cars around. I didn't have any other chance to go fast again.

You need to take a picture and make that your avatar.

I just read something on the web, that the Germans want to put a speed limit on the Autobahn.

When I first saw your post, I quickly want to see the videos. I read too fast, you said don't make fun of your accent. I read that as accident. Thank God that wasn't the case.

Do post your times I know you can also rent high-end cars for a day at the track.

Me and my friend looked into renting a 911 turbo for a day. Whew. Pricey. 1000 euro for a day and you can only put 1000 kilometers on it, have to pay for each additional. Of course split into two and we would share driving but even still that is pretty dang pricey. Gotta remember I am in the military, I dont make a whole bunch of money.. lol I enjoy my car though. One of my soldiers has an Evo 9 RS and we are going to the nuburgring at the same time. I am getting a CBR1000RR Repsol edition this summer too..

I didn't know that you're in to bikes too. My poor VTR-1000 hasn't seen many miles since I got my type S. I've even considered selling it because riding in the states isn't as fun as it was in Italy.

Yeah I love bikes too. I laid my Uncles Buell lightning down in 99 and was kinda scared of bikes after that but I just have a respect for them now, I am gonna get me that CBR1000RR though, it is inevitable! Italy.... Lets see I have been to Milan, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Pompeii, Vatican city, Republic of san marino, venice, and vicenza and everywhere inbetween. Loved Milan the most though cause of the Church there, The Duomo.

yea Milan is an awesome city and The Duomo is one of the neatest churches in all of Europe. Be careful in Milan they drive crazy on those little streets.

you forgot to throw the "lol" or the " " in there at the end to indicate that you are joking.

If you are not joking let me assure you that driving "fast" on the autobahn in Germany is perfectly legal and everyone does it. I just do it a little faster than most lol.

You can still be pulled over in Germany for driving at unsafe speeds. Unlike in the US, they are willing to assume you are responsible, but also unlike in the US, you aren't going to get away with an argument that you didn't know any better.

It's one thing to drive at 150 mph, another to be doing it one handed while futzing with a camera. If you have a blowout, or if some other car encounters a malfunction, or a deer wanders across the autobahn, you are toast. At 150 mph, the tires are hot, pressures are high, and any manufacturing defect in those tires is going to be amplified.

Anyway, enjoy yourself, and stay safe. Sign up for the track!

I've seen quite a few accidents on the autobahn in the past 25 years. I've even seen helicopters come to pick injured people up on several occasions. However with many of the accidents, it's often too late for the helicopter.

to respond to the two previous posts you guys are both right. I have seen several helicopters on the bahn picking people up. Yeah most accidents at that rate of speed are fatal. No they wont pull you over for unsafe speeds. They mght however pull me over if they see my witha camera in my hand lol. Or if I am following too close behind someone, passing on the right.. etc etc. Incorrect on the speed thing though. I have flown by polizie doing 240k and never had an issue. Luckily the TL-S handles excellent at such speeds especially with my EDFC set on 0. I have assessed my own personal risks and determined that driving that fast is perfectly acceptable in "certain" areas of the bahn. I dont just do that everywhere. Thanks for looking out though .

That video was banging. I wish I could go bac to Germany just to drive my TLS on the Autobahn I used to travel on A7 I was stationed in Schweinfurt 97-99. Over there driving is taken seriously not like here. Cars are more fun to drive over. Next time take it through the twists and turn going through the Black Forest.
