Auto Door Lock QuestioI'n

I can't find a definitive answer to this in the manual so I'm hoping someone here can put me at ease.
Is the auto door lock - re-lock functionality disabled if the engine is running? I'm paranoid about starting the car in the morning to allow it to warm up only to come out ten minutes later to find the doors locked.

Auto Door Lock feature has 3 options:

1) Off

2) When tranmission is moved out of "park"

3) When car's speed is greatr then 10mph

So it will not lock when just sitting in the driveway...

This is the way I know of the locking/unlocking methods.

1. You cannot lock the doors with the fob if a door is open. You can use the switch on the door to lock the doors.

2. You can program your fob to re-lock the doors after a preset time if a door has not been opened after pushing unlock with the fob.

3. You can set another programamble option to lock the doors after you have reached a certain speed. Then you can also program it to unlock all the doors or just the driver side door after you have turned off the engine.

The only way you would have a problem is if you start your car and then push the lock button on the door before closing the door.

actually now that I think of it, I've started my car went back inside the house for a couple minutes and the doors did not lock. I supposed if you wanted to try it out just roll down the window so you can still unlock the car, if need be.

You still wont have a problem. It won't let you lock the doors if a door is open while the car is running, and if you forcibly lock them by pushin the pins down, when you close the door they automatically unlock.

Come to think of it, there is no possible way to lock your keys in the car unless you start the car, close the doors, lock the doors, and then auto roll the window up (from the outside).

Thumbs up

These are 3 different issues... auto lock, auto unlock and auto relock

1-> Auto Lock (on AT) options are
---- when shifting out of park or
---- after a certain speed or
---- no auto-lock

You also have a choice of auto unlock when shifting to park or removing key, driver's door or all doors

2-> Auto Relock is when the car is unlocked with the fob and no doors are opened, then it will relock... that is programmable for 15, 30 or 90 secs, but the key is if NO DOORS ARE OPENED after unlocking with the fob
