Austin, TX

Hey guys,

I'm moving from Atlanta to Austin, TX, to work for Spansion (AMD). I was wondering if Austin is a safe place for my TL. I plan on living in a gated community in Southwest Austin, so hopefully the car thieves and the HID thieves won't be too bad over there. Any input would help! Thanks!

Welcome to ATX. Can't say it won't happen but think it's a bit laid back here. No problems with my 2004 TL getting pilfered though I did get the dealer to throw in some wheel locks.

I live in san antonio tx, about 50miles from austin. I haven't had any problems or heard about HID thefts.

No problems in Houston so far either.
BTW, you will have a hard time finding sweet Tea or streets named Peach here. LOL

I used to travel to Atlanta often for work so I can relate to the culture difference.
Welcome to Texas.
