I installed the hood today. Did some very very minor work to the hood side edge up by the windshield side of the hood to properly seal the CF layers to make sure there is no intrusion at a later date....then sanded and covered it with some flat black paint from a Testor's paint pen from HobbyTown USA. There was a few pits (very common) in the edge...so I filled em with resin, sanded smooth and covered the entire edge with flat paint...no big deal.
I have several friends with Seibon CF hoods on EVO's and a common issue is for water or air intrustion into the laminated layers which causes fogging in the top layer eventually. In order to prevent this from happening...I took any pitting on the edge and filled em with resin with a tiney model paint brush and sanded flat and covered with paint from the paint pen. You cant even tell I did anything really....but a touch I felt was necessary to insure the longevity of the hood. No big deal though...something I did in the dining room Friday night before I put it on this morning.

The reason I said what I said that was because it was stated the hood was VIS, when it turned out to be Versus

Not sure what the point is though...VIS, VMS, Seibon.....its all about the same quality.....as long as its not a EMM or EMS hood (something like that) that I have never seen...so I cant attest to that quality. You see em pop up on ebay for about $300 every now and then.

I was suprised how much difference the feel was with less weight on the front end like that. It does feel lighter up front....no doubt.
Oh....and side note....when people are talking with Versus about the TL hood....and they say you have to put a nonrefundable deposit down and they order it from Japan ....they are full of crap.....they are made in Mexico per the little white tag on the underside of the hood....lol. No big deal there....its hand work....which is often done in Mexico due to labor rates....but dont fall for that Japan line...thats a marketing thing or a mistake on the end of a Versus employee when they said that. I know they import some of their stuff from overseas....but this is not one of em. This comes from South of the Boarder!
