Aspec on TL Type S
So i am in the market for a 07 or 08 TL type s but i want to put the 04-06 aspec front lip side and rear lip as I just like this better. Can it be done does anyone have pics of a type s with the older kit?
Thanks
Thanks

The rear won't fit the dual tips...the sides will go right on and the front I'm not sure if it mounts the same as type s aspec front...the marks on the bumper will probably be off...the fronts probably some custom drilling. I'm not saying this as a fact, I'm sure someone who has done it will chime in any minute now.

Ok hopefully he can chime in. I just dont like how the kit in the front of the type s kit massively gauds out the front bumper. I would maybe do typeS side and back with aspec front unless all can be modded aspec back?
Any more pics???

^that's pretty much the best pic of a 07-08 type-s with a base front. what else do you want to see?
i am in the same boat as you, i've got an 07 type-s and want the a-spec kit. instead of going through all the hassle of mixing and matching parts, i'm just going to get the type-s kit. a lot of people i've talked to say the type-s kit will grow on you, and in person, it looks good.
mixing n matching parts will end up costing you money, along with the added cost of modifying the front bumper. but in the end, do what you wanna do man.

the 04-06 lip would have to be modded to fit a 07-08 tl-s bumper cause the shape of the hole by the fogs is reversed....oh and like sharksbreath said...id work on getting a type s first

Unlike most people I like to know the most about a car I am going to spend over 20k on. Even if it's a cosmetic issue such as the kit. The best info I got from the forum so far was about the tranny pressure switches. The type-s exhaust is it loud what's it sound like? I'm going to be test driving a bunch right after Xmas. Thanks for the help.

Could a Type-S Aspec lip be cut like this:
(I hope 94lude doesn't mind me drawing lines on his beautiful pics)
I'm not sure what people don't like about the Type-S lip so much, but the part that goes over the lower grill is the stuff I don't like.

its been six days, obviously no one has done it or the pictures dont exist. IF you truely were serious, you would have searched around a bit to see if it was done/doable.
If it has not been done, why dont you buy the parts and get it done?
you obviously have your mind made up and want to get it done, whats stopping you?
Does any one innovate any more?

Ps.... All I asked for was a picture not something crazy or out of the ordinary so here you go!

^sorry.. didnt mean to hijack thread... but back to topic - the rear 04-06 lip wont fit unless you change the exhaust (get smaller ones) and the front would need modification as well. (havnt seen anyone do it?) you can be the first? good luck with it

Yes that's what got me hooked but what concerned that the miles might have been bogus also. I will most likely try and trade or just buy the front lip of the older aspec kit. Then hook up a older front bumper if I cannot modify it. I'm going to check out 10tls in 2 weeks. That older front lip is just streamlined sexy!

Master Legend, sorry if I came across harsh.
I'm just saying, if you arent getting the responses you desire, go out and make it happen.
this car has been in production since '04 and stopped in '08. There's plenty of information on this forum, available to you. just need to dig around for it.
be innovative and creative. and of course when you do get it done, post up a DIY for others.
