Aspec kit

Hey I'm buying an a spec kit but I got two options, $405 unpainted it comes in black primer and it must be prepped prior to painting, whatever that means. Or $785 already painted. Question is who have bought there a spec kit unpainted and how much you paid to paint it. I have a WDP. thanks

Just get it painted because it will be cheaper and nothing beats OEM paint. If anything, getting it painted from the factory will save you time and we all know time is money.

In the end, it's worth it to get OEM.

i can tell you right now that just painting a bumper (1 bumper) will cost you $$$. my rear bumper repaint on a replacement bumper was close to $700. take the price of the bumper out....$4-500 just on paint and prep. so....just forewarning you. just buy the kit prepainted from the factory...its more cost effective (ie cheaper) unless you are painting your car some unique color then get the kit unpainted. you also don't want to risk a flawed paint job from a body shop when the paint will more or less come out pretty good and well cured from factory.

Get OEM painted. I asked around and most body shop charges 600+.

the ebay ones look like knock offs. they aren't OEM. the description states it is "Aspec style lip kit". not one mention of OEM or genuine acura. just FYI. gotta love flea-bay!

Save the hassles, buy them painted with your matching oem colors.

Keep in mind that WDP is a very hard color to match (Acura has a hard time doing it themselves from the factory). This could be an issue for your paint shop if you were to have them paint the kit.

You can't get the OEM body kits unpainted. They are all factory painted already anyways. Only way to get the unpainted is to strip the paint/clearcoat and sand it down.

yes i can confirm that oem lips never come unpainted. if it is unpainted then its not oem or someone took off the paint.

$765 shipped from AckTL05

like everyone else said, if you see it on EBAY and it says "UN PAINTED" than its a KNOCK OFF A-SPEC KIT.

It's not OEM, It's not GENUINE, It's not AUTHENTIC, hope you get the drift...

It's a REPLICA. A "IMITATION". Most likely made out of cheap fiber glass or some other material that cracks easily.

Do your TL a favor and don't get a cheap 'replica' kit for your TL

Finally ordered it.

Sorry to bring this back up. But I finally ordered my a-spec lip kit. I have to pick it up Monday from the Acura dealer. Problem is I asked them how much they would charge to install it for me and they want. $500!! I asked the guy if they were insane. So I'm wondering if the lips will fit in the rear seat of my car? 06 tl. I hate how we can't bring our rear seats down...any input will be appreciated thanks.

the box won't but the lip might.

you could thread it through the pass through from the trunk to get it to fit. not sure if it'll fit...worth a try. yo uneed a friend with an MDX.

^just take your moms suv and go pick it up. then bring it back to your place (where your car will be) and install it.

the install is not hard. do not pay someone to do it. simple hand tools are all that is needed.

Full kit will fit inside the car without the box. Drop the front passenger side seat all the way down and slide all the pieces in resting on front seat to back seat. That's how I had mine transported from home to shop for install.

White Angel, when you were looking at OEM a-spec kits, was there an option JUST to buy the front bumper? I don't know how this would look with stock side-skirts and a stock rear bumper, but I'm mostly interested in the fog setup on a-spec.
