Aspec body kit intallation for $300
Today is the best definition of disaster for me. I went to a collision shop to get my body kit installation done yesterday and left the car over night. The dumbest part was i didnt ask the labor fee cuz my friend refered me to there. I went back to pick up my car with 200 bucks, I thought it's more than enough for anything, even a engine oil change included. However, the guy want me to pay 300 dollars and let me go to a nearest gas station to withdraw without my car in rain, wtf. By the time I came back, I hair was like washed by some sulfate acid, totally melted down. This isn't the worst part yet. In js abt 3 mins with driving leaving on a road with tons of shit hole, my driver side's front tire exploded without any expectation. I ended up with going back to the same shop with no better choice. That was how I called my day.
P.S, Anyone lives in Queens, New York, please refer some body shops with a rational collect fee. Will greatly appreciate it.

Shitty day man.
$300 to install?
Could have done it yourself or have a buddy help out.

I hope you got your kit for around $400-$500. So that with the installation fee, it would add up to what the kit actually costs. The kit was actually not as bad to put together as you might think. A novice like me put it all together in about 6 hours total with the help of the DIY from this site.

Sorry to hear about your shitty day, we all get those once in awhile. $300 to install
, it's pretty straight forward. My bro & I put mines on in 30 degree weather while in the garage.

Sorry to hear man. You live and you learn. I once paid $80 to get a air intake installed. It wasn't even a cold air intake lol. But I learned and now I do all of my own work.

100-150 sounds about right to install the kit.
100 is pretty cheap if you're paying for it.
Took me 7 hours doing it by myself. Not sure how a member did it in 2. I will need proof!

It took me about 2 hrs as well. It's not hard at all and I have the base lip on my type s so there was no true guide to follow on that part. The sides should take you about a 1/2 hr to 40 mins tops cause all you're really doing for those is swapping the parts. The instructions can make you feel a bit like you'll be there forever.

If i was a business and you asked me to install a body kit for you that you did not purchase from me I would think $300 is fair as an install price. The guy is running a business not a non profit corp... you are paying the labor for the guy installing the kit probably 4-5 hours worth of labor plus you need to make $ to cover the shops overhead and to make some profit....

if it makes you feel any better, i paid a little more than $300 to have the dealer install mine, a while back in 06?
it happens to the best of us...modding cars takes experience! you'll get into the groove soon enough - aka be able to do everything on your own car
take it as a life lesson!!!

Sorry you had a shitty day....but like everyone on here says...learn from it!!! 3rd, 5th or 10th TL - losing 300 hard earned dollars is more of a hassle than spending an afternoon working on your car. Personally I love the satisfaction of knowing that I did something new - AND knowing I saved $$$ in the process. It can be a pain in the ass, especially if you dont have the tools...BUT...you are saving $$$.
I recently completely renovated my house and I had never done any real renos before. After receiving several quotes from contractors, I was surprised how quickly I learned to install hardwood floors, baseboards, doors etc.LOL! I borrowed tools from friends in the trades, got some tips and went to work. It took several months working in the evenings after work, but I saved THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!!!
Doing this allowed me to save some $$ and pick up my TL, and now I'm working on IT!! Sorry for the life story, but its just my

Hmm... in that case, I don't think I would mod a car that I couldn't mod myself. If you're going to have to pay shops for everything, it is going to get expensive quick. But, if you've got the $$$ and don't got the time, then spend away! I'm a cheap bastard.
