ASM color owners: Question on your paint code vs mine...

Hey guys...i'm kind of scratching my head about my paint code. I have the Alabaster Silver Metallic and the paint code is supposed to be:

NH700M

BUT...my paint code in my door is:

NH700MX

I've been searching through the threads and it seems everyone that has this color - the code is NH700M. So i called the dealer to try and get an explanation and the dude in the parts dept that i talked to said that as long as they/any paint shop has the NH700M, then that's the right color. He couldn't explain why mine had an "X" at the end. He just said some cars came out that way, but the paint is exactly the same.

Anyone one else know or have this code too?

Doing some quick searches, I was certainly surprised at the number of cars that have that color code e.g. 2006 Honda civic. Even the '08 Accord has NH700MX on the door tag, but the dealer listed it as NH700MAH. Even found a NH700MHE, all Alabaster Silver. Looks as though the NH700M is the base number for all. Maybe the X is for Acura? Our WDP has an X suffix.

That wasn't a very educated reply as I previously stated that a 2008 Accord also had the X suffix.
