Area in front of flip-open door pockets?

What is it? Maybe a place for change? It has a rubber bottom and looks like it has a purpose, however nothing in the book? I know it's on the driver side, not sure about the passenger? Any ideas?

Cool Ray Charles could see that...

Is that the sunglasses storage place (in lieu of the overhead bin that isn't there)?

That little rubber-lined area in front of the pocket is indeed for an occasional coin or other object. I laid a paper receipt there for a moment, then forgot about it and drove around all day, getting in and out of the car. Lo and behold the receipt stuck to that rubber! I was impressed.

The sunglass holder is at the rear of the pocket.

Funny, I find them more effective when I put them in front of my eyes, on my face....

First moreace and now you.

Page 108 of the manual for the front door pocket, but makes no mention of the little area in front, which I would say is good for coins, paper clips, jelly beans, whatever you want to put in it that will fit. In a previous thread someone said he used it for coins but the clinking noise drove him crazy so he put the coin holder back.

I guess they thought it was self-explanatory but they didn't take into account the members of this forum, who have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

I put a few coins there. If they become too plentiful I use the coin change holder in the arm rest and the holder behind the arm rest. Too may coins in that spot drives me crazy with that jangling sound.

The pocket on the lower edge of the door. It pulls out, with 2 clicks, so you can get to it easier. There should be an insert at the rear end of each front door pocket (or storage compartment), shaped so it will accept your sunglasses.

Of course, it is completely useless, because when you are driving, even if you pull the compartment out, it is almost impossible to get to the sunglasses. Ald there isn't enough room in the "sun glass holder" to put your sunglasses in if they are in a case, so that means they get all dusty and rattle around in the holder.

I just took both of mine out, which gives me more room in the door pocket.

If you didn't get them, check with the dealer, but they are useless so I wouldn't even bother unless you are like me and want everything you paid for.

For a little more useful space in the upper section of the console (under the armrest), pull the coin holder out and install it into the inner front half of door pocket. There are cutouts in the liner. Reaching into the door pocket for coins while approaching a toll booth is much safer and more ergonomic than looking away from the road to open and rifle through the console.

That's what I did and uses the front rubberized area for pennies.
