(Anyone) Winding down windows with remote

im wondering if anyone has tried this yet, im referring to using the 3rd gen stock key fob to wind down the windows & open the sunroof...

i held the open button down, it rolled the windows down half way, held it down a second time it rolled the windows down all the way & opened the sunroof

I think I have had this option on most of the cars I have owned.

Nissan Maxima
Infiniti I35
Nissan Pathfinder
Acura TL

The TL is the only one that opens the sunroof as well though.

I do it too.

BTW, you can reverse it with putting the key in the driver side lock, turn it to the lock position to lock the car, release, then turn it again and hold. It will close everything. Boooyaaahhh!

There is also a window module that you can purchase for $40 that will allow you to roll up your windows from your key fob instead of having to stand and put the key in the drivers side door.

It's called KP Technologies Window Roll-up Module

I think the dealer salespeople showed the original owners the remote window opening feature during delivery of the car.

It's in the owner's manual, too.

Living in SoCal, the remote window opening feature is used year 'round.

press unlock button, press unlock again and hold, all 4 windows and sunroof should roll down/back. Works great when you want to get rid of the hot air built up inside and i love using it to show off to my friends

I may get that module for that feature. I don't know why they left that out?

Is there a trick to closing the windows with the key? I tried opening all the windows with key in door and worked. I then reversed direction and nothing closed.

Did you turn the key once to lock then back up to neutral position then lock-hold?

turn your key twice and hold, it will close any open window or sunroof.

I don't know if it's the battery but when you guys use the window down feature does it stop on you sometimes like the "signal was lost" type deal and have to do it again?

It stops if you let go. You have to hold the button until its goes all the way down if you want it all the way down.

I know it stops if you let go, I'm saying if your walking towards it while holding it, it seems like the signal cut out and have to do it again. Maybe I just need a new remote battery?

Most likely needs a new battery. CR2025.
Or maybe you need to hold it up to your chin with your mouth open!

Do you have to hold the lock button? or do you just tap it twice and it auto closes?

hit the unlock button once then hold it. To put them back up you have to do it with the key in the door

What do you guys mean when you say you have trouble "timing" it when trying to use the window roll-up module?

What exactly is the procedure to make the windows roll up when using the KP Technologies module? Why is it hard to get down even after a year of ownership? Just wondering

You have to push the lock button twice. If you do it to fast or to slow it wont work. You have to get it juuuuuust right.

Oh I see. Damn that kinda sucks. To roll the windows down you don't have to hit it just right. I guess it just takes some getting used to.

The roll up module is very worth it. I had it in my old 04 TSX. The instructions should be in the garage section.

I loved this feature but hated the short range of the stock remote. I upgraded to a high end Clifford/Viper alarm so now I can do up or down from a few hundred yards away. Sadly, I have to push buttons four times instead of two but it's well worth it.

the KP Window RollUp Module doesn't include a rain sensor AFAIK - did you mod the mod?

What about the sunroof? It opens with the remote so how are you getting it closed with the KP Window RollUp Module since it only does the windows? Another mod to the mod?

This is the post right after that one.

It's also not a feature of the KP technologies window up mod. He apparently has something entirely different for this feature.

No actually, the KP technologies module closes the sunroof also.
It works off the lock pulses of the car, so you can also activate it by pushing the lock button on the car door (interior) twice. I have done this when getting out of the car right before swinging the door closed.
