Anyone Used Ziebart Diamond Gloss?
According to the ziebart in Wexford, PA, the Acura dealership has inventory that sits for a long time. Which raises the first question of why they don't deal, but we'll leave that for another day.
Apparently they were having trouble with new cars after they had sat over the winter, acid rain damage, salt damage, and they were paying to get them repainted before delivery. Their solution to this was, according to Ziebart, to have this Diamond Gloss finish put on the car, and now they don't have the problem any more, the cars always look new.
Now having seen their cars, and drooling over how darn good the paint jobs at that dealer, I'm inclined to do this, because they do look tremendous (guy said they take them off the truck and take them right over, no time in between).
My question is has anyone used this on their Acura? Does it work? Is it worth the money?

They want 249.00. Now, having seen the cars sitting on that lot, and then having been up close, it looks well worth it. Guess I'm just looking for horror stories. They guarantee it, and they charge like 99 to renew it every year, but its a full detail and reapplication. Just don't know if I'm getting hosed or not.

Ok, Update -- got my Accord Diamond Shined by Ziebart as a test run. Analysis is as follows.
Its like rain-x for the paint, rain rolls right off. Left the car last night in the garage (its been raining for 2 days straight here). Car was still wet in the morning on places where there was no drainage, the rest of the car didn't have any water marks.
Paint quality -- deep. Appearance is much improved. It looks like someone buffed out all imperfections, and the surface is glossy and smooth (not as smooth as a wax compound, I'm assuming b/c its a chemical sealant).
Renewal/warranty -- comes with standard limited Ziebart warranty, and a guaranteed renewal fee of like 100 a year.
Here is my logic -- if you are waaay too busy (or perhaps just not inclined that direction) I think on initial impressions this is really the way to go. But I'll update as time goes on.

Most highrise work buildings in downtown areas have master detailers working out of the parking garage. The guy in my building has been detailing cars for over 25 years and is qualified to do just about anything you would want done - although, he knows what's better for my car than I do.
If it were my car, I would just take it to a trusted master detailer and discuss with them what needs to be done to your vehicle. Of course, that's if you have the coin and not the time/expertise to do it yourself.
