Anyone notice driver's side bolsters less supportive?
Hi Guys,
I was cleaning out my TL today and was sitting in my passanger front seat when I noticed that the side shoulder bolsters seem to "cradle" me in tighter. Thinking that it was in my head, I went and sat in the driver's seat. And would you believe it? The ones on the left felt less supportive when both seat settings were nearly identical. It felt like I had an extra inch more width in the driver's seat before the bolsters came in contact with my shoulders. I made sure I did not activate the lumbar support to try and equalize things.
Do any of you TLers notice this? I have a few theories regarding this...
1) The passanger seat has a built in sensor to detect someone leaning onto the door to deactivate the side airbag and this sensor uses up space.
2) My occasional aggressive driving has led compression of the cushioning and has flattened them sideways and backwards into the seat.
3) The seat has a manufacturing defect.
I seriously doubt that Acura designed the passanger seat to be narrower. Althought I have to admit that I have not actually measure the seats with a ruler just yet. Has anyone noticed this? Can some of you guys just give it a try to see if you notice the difference I feel? Thanks for all your help.
