Has anyone done any mod's to their 04 TL's? I saw some pics of neon blue lights replacing the standard ones in the dome and door lights. These were awesome.

Also read that some people got the navi system to display dvd movies? Where do you get those kits?

Anyone else got any cool mods they have done recently?

 

you can by the kits from a variety of places. I believe there was a group buy for them not to long ago.

 

kit is from avelectronics I believe

(1) Injen Cold Air intake installed

(2) Cleared Out Headlights (LOOKS F-IN AWESOME)

(3) On the way (hopefully tomorrow) 19x8 Axis Hagens w/ 245/35ZR19 Nitto NT-555

Next up this week:

-Change Side Marker LEDs to White/Clear
-Debadge "TL" and "ACURA" badges on rear end

yep, he finished them for me and I got them on Saturday afternoon. I re-installed them on Sunday morning. LOOKS SWEET AS HELL!!!!! waiting to take pics til i get my new rims on tomorrow!

Is it hard to take the headlights out...I read on here that you have to take the bumper off first. I definitely want to get my headlights cleared out.

How long did it take to remove the headlights? How long was the total turnaround time for you to get the headlights back(from out your door to back at your door)?

well, i took them out on a sunday afternoon, UPS NEXT DAY AIRED them to Mr on monday morning. Flippin UPS screwed up and didnt deliver them until Wednesday. He worked on them wednesday and thursday. He sent them out to me on Friday via Fedex Priority Saturday Del. I put them back in yesetdray. Yes, the front bumper has to come off which is very simple. Just a few snap pins underneath, a few bolts, and just clips and it comes off. Headlights are held in by a metal and plastic railing, and has total about 6 bolts to anchor them to the car, as well as 4 different plugs to power all the bulbs inside the housing. so my lights were out one entire week. And if one more person asked me what happened to my headlights, I was gonna knock em out! LOL

im gonna order some. I need to first see if LED bulbs will fit through the opening, its not very big if I remeber correctly and those LED bulbs are wide!!!! i am also gonna order some silver chrome HID blinker bulbs as I hear these are the best, gonna experiment with a few different ones. I just wanted to get the headlights in so damn bad!!!

 

That looks friggin AWESOME! So I guess Mr. just took out the amber pieces, not replacing them with clear pieces...right? I think that might be illegal in some states, not sure, but I'm gonna do it anyways. Good pics, and thanks.

 

yep, he removed the amber out and yes, it is illegal according to US DOT. It was alot more work than just snapping the amber out in the 04TL headlights, as some modding had to be done to make the chrome pieces stay in. Was well worth the money, and he did a good job. Now i am just crossing my fingers they dont leak, but it looks like he sealed them up very well! (KNOCK ON WOOD)

what if mr. give black color or silver color to those reflectors and stick those reflectors back in... how would that look?

 

dunno, u should ask him. But, he knows of a place that can make the reflectors in clear. Prolly would cost like a 200 bucks just for the clear reflectors, and would take a few weeks. Not to mention, it wont make it legal still with clear reflectors, they have to be amber per US DOT. Cops in Nevada arent picky about modding cars like they are in L.A. just email or PM mr . I think that they look good with just removing the amber.

 

I know here in Dallas, its ok to have clear headlights and clear bulbs but cops can pull you over if they want. They recommend at least the car's front has orange lights or reflectors.

I did that on my TSX.......I didn't want that "empty" look in the lights. After taking apart my headlights I used silver and black tint spray on the reflectors.

At night they corners still light up yellow.

 

IMHO the clear looks better than the painted, but everyone has their own opinion. In any event, yours still looks nice too. ANYTHING besides that damn amber!!
