Anyone know how to remove this piece?

I took off the black plastic layer to make it chrome and ended up hating it. My question is how do I remove this piece so I can get it painted back to black? I tried a search but came up with nothing.

If you're going to use plasti dip you wouldn't have to remove it. Trying to remove that may cause more harm than good. GL

i say just mask the door panel and window. Also i wouldn't recommend plastidip because its a dull black. I rather use a glossy black paint.

there is a link in the thread below that is for the entire manual in pdf format (just look for the post with about 20 'thanks'). i'm sure they give full instructions how to remove it.

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/2006-tl-searchable-pdf-service-manual-829490/

FYI - it's a huge file (300MB), but def worth downloading.

I'm not sure if this is the same as the 4G TL but to remove the chrome outer piece (on a 4G TL). It should be similar.

On the inside of the door, there are 2 screws, one on the front of the door and one in the back. They might be under a cover or they might be out in the open. Remove those and pull the back end straight up and it should slide out.

Side note about the plasti-dip. Yes the outcome is a matte or flat black, but there is clear plasti-dip. I have yet to use it, but I'm sure if you did about 2 coats of the black and 2 coats of clear it would come out glossy black. Correct me if I'm wrong since I have yet to use the clear, as mentioned previously
Thats actually my next plan hopefully soon; redo my emblems in black plasti-dip with the clear to top it off for a glossy look.

I dont have much pictures of it in chrome. Yes. the outside weatherstrip (the peice between the door and window) is covered in vinyl and you can just peel it off.

Its not chrome paint, its a chrome peice covered in black vinyl. you can just peel it away.
