Anyone know how much new windshield is?

Parked at work, there was a tree above me that drops those big green monkey balls. WHo knows what the hell they are. Anyway, hit my 04 TL winshield near the bottom and spidered up in four different directions. Sucks!! Anyone have an idea of how much it is to replace?

Your insurance should cover this under the comprehensive clause.

Your insurance might actually have a separate windshield clause. Read the policy and call your agent. Because it's a safety issue, many states have laws on this. There may be a reduced deductible and the insurance company may not be able to rate you as a result of the claim. Last time I had a crack in my windshield it cost me only $50 to replace because insurance picked everything else up. That was a Ford Bronco and the actual cost was about $300 to install.

That sounds like it might be an aftermarket windshield.

The OEM windshield has an acoustical layer to cut down noise, which aftermarket windshields don't have.

Make sure you check this out, and insist on OEM even if it costs a lttle more.

If it is OEM for that price, that is a good deal.

try Union Auto Glass out of Kennett Square. They also have other locations. They do very good work at a better price than Safelite.

i can't remember. i got a quarter size crack a couple of months ago. called my insurance company and they gave me 3 shops around my work to check out and get it fixed for free. the first company said they wouldn't do it coz it was too close to my dash board but will replace it with Honda OEM for $800. my deductible was $500. i didn't want to replace my windshield until i had a shorter commute. so i moved on to the next shops. the third fixed it so i didn't have to get it replaced.

you may be able to get a better idea if you call the parts dept. in an acura dealer in your area
