anyone have quad muffler tip on an 04-06 muffler?

Well, someone just rear ended me and the car is in the shop. Since I will have to et a new rear bumper, I want to get the type-s rear bumper. The thing is, is there a quad muffler tip I can put on my stock muffler? If anyone has done this, please post pics and let me know where you purchased the tips.

i think the with the stock muffler and the new dual tips (on each side) will be too low...if you look at ur stock muffler, it actually bends up then straight out to the tip...i dont have my stock tip anymore so i cant really post a pic, but if you were to put the duals on the stock muffler, itd have to point up or go stright out which will prob be 1" lower than the top of the type S bumper exhaust outlet...i think...

in that pic he has aftermarket mufflers

you could always get aftermarket mufflers like, magnaflow, borla, flowmaster, hooker aero, etc with dual outlets and custom a quad back

or you can buy aznbo187's ATLP catback which i bet he'll be here in a few hours to promote hehe

very interesting that silver tl looks like it has the stock bumper but they simply removed the garnish and fitted quads in it... very smart

Can't the pipe coming out the stock exhaust be heated and bent into place if i had dual tips welded onto it? I was thinking maybe my only other option is possibly RL tips.

Aznbo's tips wont dit with the base bumper, you need the type S bumper. I've researched this alot, bought Porsche quad tips and everything, but decided not to go with it

i am putting on the typs s rear bumper and i feel the stock tip will look too small. I don't want to change the muffler however. What was the problem with the porsche quad tips?

Magnaflow

Check out the Magnaflow website. They have a number of exhaust tips that can be welded on to any muffler, including several dual designs that can be paired up to give you a quad look.

Decide to use stock muffler? A problem your going to run into is that the stock muffler's outlet is lower than the bumper exhaust outlet, so it has to be positioned perfectly

The last ones look way too wide for the stock bumper, i think. The porsche tips look good but in need of a polishing like you said. I'm just kinda worried because 7" is cutting it close, I think I ordered/canceled the same ones. Do you have an ASpec rear lip?

I'm going to try the 06 RL tips on my 06 TL. They will fill the opening very well and are slanted to fit the contour of th bumper.

i had gone to the dealer to try those. They are not much wider than the stock tips, its the shape that fools the eye. For a 04-06 bumper it will work, but doesn't fill in the 07 bumper enough, it think they only measured 5.5 inches wide.

i like the type-s bumper on the regular tl-s... nice upgrade

if that doesnt work out, you should probably look into buying somebodys used 07+ TL-S catback

Has anyone considered the Tips of a maxima 3.5? I saw one with a quad exhaust today and it seemed it would fit the opening. also they were staggered slightly to match the contour of the bumper.

i think aznbo's setup was pretty sick looking.. with the type-s bumper, you couldnt tell the difference. + he had the reg 04-06 TL tail's, which i like more

I took a hard look at these on eBay but I think they may be to long and a tight fit for the 04-06 TL.

Ernie, yeah man, NO way those would fit. Look pretty damn wide, and the gap between the tips just makes it a definite no no.

those wont work due to the length and how the pipe coming from the muffler angles up, so they wont be straight. That's why my objective was to find the shortest tips possible which could be welded on at the same point as the stock square tip. Its about 4 inches from the weld to the tip. I rather go shorter also, because you can always put an extension. hence the porsche 997 tips.
