Anyone have a picture of a TL next to a RL
A guy at work said he saw a 05TL parked next to an 05 RL, and the TL looked tiny next to it.
I would be interested seeing pictures next to each other.

IMHO the TL looks better than the RL at any angle. The RL reminds me too much of an Accord from the side.

I have to agree with a couple of the posts here. I love the TL, and think it is one of the best looking cars on the road. The RL looks decent on the commercial, but I parked next to one the other day, and I have to say that in person it is one fine looking car.

I posted this before, but my opinion is that Acura is not as good as some of the masters of automobile advertising. I think the TL & RL both look loads better in person than in any of their ads. Ever look at a Jag or Caddy ad? The angles, shadows, colors, poses are fantastic.

i guess that is the difference between honda and GM/Ford....
honda invest more $$$ in the car and GM/Ford invest more on the marketing firm...
or... a better way look at it..
GM/Ford marketing team is better than Honda's marketing team, but honda still beat them in sales and customer satisfaction

The TV add showing the TL cutting a new road wasn't much better (particularly in the absence of AWD).
If were Acura/Honda, I'd fire the agency (although the number on the road is becoming notable). Perhaps demonstrating that 'product' can overcome poor advertising.

I think the TL looks much sportier thant the RL in person. There is something about the angled profile of the car and the groove/line running down the side which makes the car sportier than the more conservative RL. I've seen RLs pimped out with chrome wheels and effects and IMHO it just doesn't work for a car at that price point. I think the TL does better with enhancements.

That's a great point, I couldn't agree with you more, I think the advertisments HONDA has are weak!!!!!!

I know its not just me, but why on the pictures does the TL look bigger or set higher than the RL? hmmmm suggestive selling.. Not that it matters, but I am all for the TL hands down. I think mine should be here next week. I would say picture to follow, but everybody knows what it looks like.

Great job on the pix and specs!! IMHO the TL is clearly styled in almost Italian design. Its edgy, sharp, cutting edge. Its the second best design to come out of Japan, the NSX being the other one. Like they say: LOOKS FAST STANDING STILL !!! What more is there to say. The RL is somewhat lost in the design area- like Honda wanted to build on the TL wave but had to compromise in the end with rounder lines etc- like maybe this should appeal more to the LM Town Car crowd.

I looked at an RL this week when I was getting my TL's first service. At first glance, with it's rear view side blinkers, I thought it was a redesigned TSX. It looked way too small and the styling is layed back compared to the TL. I made the right choice with my manual 04TL.

Before I bought my TL, I thought the RL looked great in photos, and I even thought about buying the RL. Luckily, when I went to test drive the TL at the dealer, they had an RL on display. I was not as impressed, too round in the rear.
I must admit the photos above still make the RL look better than the TL, but in person the TL to me looks more impressive.

I test drove the RL while waiting for my TL to get an oil change...it rides like a high end lexus/mid level mercedes, nice and smooth but doesn't have everything a 50,000 car warrants -- unfortunately the name brand kills the deal. I can't imagine spending that much on an acura when a competing clk is right in the same range. It does look fine though, very smooth car.

After test driving I'm more inclined towards the TL. It's more on the sporty side in exterior/interior style, handling and performance, considering it's about 500 pound lighter than the RL. I wish the TL would get a notch higher in material quality and workmanship!

I think the TL has an Italian flare to it. It reminds me of the Alfa 156.

I would love to see Alfa Romeo return to America. Their cars look great. I'd love to see a TL coupe similar to the Alfa GT.

The ONLY thing I don't like about the TL..and I own one...is the "Acura"embossed into the front bumper. It looks cheap IMHO...kinda like the "Mustang" embossed into the rear bumper of the new Mustangs. It looks plastic and cheap....otherwise the car is outstanding in the styling department. If Acura only made the front of the TL look better by getting rid of the embossing...and making the bumper more stylish....I'd have to say it would be the nicest looking sport sedan in the world. It would be interesting if someone could "photoshop" the front of the RL onto the TL...hummmmm????
