Anyone got their HIDs stolen?

i know the past TLs were getting their HIDs stolens left and right, leaving their car without headlights, bent hood and fender. I was wondering if the 3rd gen TL will have this problem? makes me wonder if i ever park outside at night

the design of the 3rd gen tl makes it somewhat more difficult to steal the HIDs.....take a look at the cut of the hood and where the lights are on both 2nd gen tl's and 3rd gen tl's and youll see what im talking about

Check out the whole TL interactive module at acura.com; it'll mention somewhere that the new TL uses some sort of security/anti-theft bracket to make it much harder for thieves to steal the HIDs.

Anyone else getting flashed with brights from oncoming cars? Last night it seemed like every other car wanted to send me a message about my high intensity beams. My brights were definitely off. The fourth time (no kidding) I started flashing back the oncoming traffic.

I haven't noticed those lights being much brighter/higher than other cars, since I do see a lot of them on the streets these days, and I take note when I see them coming towards me w/ the lights. To me, the lights are about the same as other cars, may be not as "dim" as others, but the height is about the legal level regardless anyway.

Happens ALL the time! Just flash back to let them know that they are cannot tell the difference between high beams and HID's.

A lot of times this is because the road you're going up is uneven so the light ends up shining in their face... and they get annoyed. But that's just the way our HIDs behave. I'd rather get the occasional flash and be able to see clearly in the night than not.

I haven't had that happen yet since I haven't had the chance to adjust my driver side light up a bit. It is scary how little distance the light shines on the ground ahead of you. Very easy to 'over drive' the lights.

My dad had an interesting experience with his HIDs on his old RL. He was at the airport making his way to the curb. This was at night so he had his lights on. The cop managing traffic came over to him and told him his lights were too bright and that he had to turn them down. My dad tried to explain to the guy that HIDs don't have a dimmer but the cop didn't believe him. Luckily, something else happened and drew the cop's attention away.

I love having HIDs. I can see much better in the rain and they just look so cool.
