Anyone break really hard and feel it in the driveshaft

I broke really hard the other day and it felt kinda funny...like the center of the engine below locked up....it felt like towards the front of the driveshaft area...anyone get this experience.

GEEZ!!!!
You BRAKED, not BROKE. You have BRAKES on your car, not BREAKS. Please get it right.

Please describe "the center of the engine below" That sounds like the oilpan.

This would really be interesting because the TL doesn't have a driveshaft.

I should add that I don't flame people on this site for their lack of knowledge. Let's face it. None of us know everything (though with a few, you might think THEY believe that). We're all here to learn and help each other out.

So my comment about the lack of a driveshaft on the TL was not a flame at all.. but more a comment (and a little tongue in cheek humor).

Actually it does have a driveshaft. #4 and #5 are driveshaft assembly, left side and right side.

We need to help our fellow members instead of picking on them for grammar, spelling, and semantics.

Click here for the Parts List

System Name / Component : DRIVESHAFT-HALF SHAFT

If that be the case, then I messed up. I had always heard that FWD cars had half shafts. A driveshaft, in my experience, connects the transmission to the diferential via universal joints,in a RWD car.

As for "We need to help our fellow members instead of picking on them for grammar, spelling, and semantics", I made mention of that myself, Ron.. thank you.

you know what, these threads are starting to resemble ramblings threads, let me tell you guys something. treat people with respect over here. he said broke, so the hell what. he asked a question, give the guy a freakin answer before you go lecturing him on how he asked it. jeezzz....

you can go to ramblings and say what you want for the most part, but we try to maintain a higher standard in 3G because it's an informational forum, not a discussional forum. thank you......

You should have seen how I was nailed when I first joined this website and asked a few questions. You'd have thought I pissed in some people's beer.

Perhaps I may have crossed the line a little with my comment about driveshafts, but I did qualify my response (mostly it was in humor).

Sometimes we all do get a bit carried away.. maybe a bad day, maybe a wild hair in private places.

Frank, that was normal. It was your A.B.S. system. Anti Lock Braking system, is a sensor that recognizes that a wheel is about to be locked up. The sensor sends a message to a computer, which starts releasing and applying the brake, stopping the lock up and allowing the driver to maintain control or drive around an obstacle instead of sliding towards it.

It felt strange the first time it happened in my TL. I assure you it is normal.

It may be a good idea for everyone to try activating their ABS at some point, just to be familiar with the feeling. Find a safe area with, preferably, low traction (wet parking lot, for instance) and hit the brakes hard. Many people are startled by the feeling and they instinctively release the brakes out of panic.

They tend to feel like a small jackhammer is drilling the front end of the car when they kick in.
