So I was getting gas at Costco...
Some lady with her window rolled down said "nice car" to me. I was shocked at first...but then I realized I was driving the Acura and not the old beat-up Volvo
Just smiled and said, "thanks!"

Not gas station. In Oct, crowded Park Avenue in Manhattan, there was a motorcycle approaching me fast from behind then he tapped my passenger side window politely in the stop, and said "is this the new TL?" I confirmed, and heard "this car is better than the car on advertisement! Looks great"

Not at the gas station but on the freeway I got couple of honk and three thumbs up from the drivers in the next lane. Also had got complimented while test driving my 6MT just before I bought it.

I had only had my car for a week... and I was fueling up for a road trip, and some girl pulled up behind me... She came over and firsted asked how the milage was, and then asked to check out the rest of the car... It turns out she worked at Winghouse, which is like a Hooters... anyways, long story short... she loved the car and I got her number...

Yes I've received compliments on my car at gas stations. Lots of people here in Toronto still haven't seen the car yet. I get lots of compliments in parking lots when I'm walking back to my car and notice guys checking it out.

Probably twenty times in the last ten weeks. Particularly, people love the White Diamond Pearl paint and then if they see the interior and lighting they get even more inquisitive. Its fun to be noticed so much when your car is a new model.

I was at the atm and some lady pulled up next to my TL in the lot. She was driving a second gen TL and I could tell by the look on her face she wished she'd waited a year.

I had an AutoZone employee run out and stop me from pulling out once to ask "what kinda car is that?" He said he loved the shape, especially the front.

Well, i lost track of how many times poeple knocked on my window, left me notes, talked to me in gas stations and now the dealer.
I just got a set of chrome wheels, and the car looks nice whilein motion, but not when parked (I'm not a big fan of chrome).
I'll post pictures tomorrow and i'll see what you guys think.

This is funny. Just after I posted that post above, I drove down to Houston from Dallas. Before the trip, I had to put some gas in the car, so I pulled into an Exxon. When I went in there was a cab driver there talking to the lady running the store. As I stepped in, the cab driver asked me "what kinda car is that? is it an Audi?" I said "No, it's an Acura TL". His response "Really? Damn man, that's a tight car". My response back, "Yeah, it's a pretty sweet ride".

I received few compliments - one at AM/PM, one at the dealer by another potential customer and numerous from my coworkers.
I also received one death threat - from my wife. She was still seated in the passenger side when a cute girl stopped by my car to chat about the car. I'll be talking about the car ONLY from now on.

TL-SHAWD 6MT Rocks!
the one that never fails is :
- (wash or polish your car)
- then go to one of the following car dealers...
- Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Kia, Honda, Pontiac, GM, Mitsubishi, VW or Saturn
drive around, and watch ALL the salesman look at you, like you're driving an UFO !
Nissan salesmen came over to me and said "Is that the new TL? - can we check it out ? "
- wow, they really showed genuine interest in the car... asked many questions...
I guess they want to know what they are competing against...
they all agree, it's a super nice ride!
it doesn't work as well in the following dealers, since most salesman are waiting inside...
(and they are used to seeing nicer cars)
- BMW, Volvo, Infinity, Lexus, Audi, Mercedes, Ferrari, Porsche, Rolls Royce, etc.
that's what I do every saturday if I'm not too busy. It's a good way to test drives all the cars... you make friends at dealerships...

got some good stares..
At the sports store I had a couple of guys checking out the car for about 10 minutes while I watch from inside the store.
I tell my wife the story....she say's "well it looks like you don't have a chick magnet, but a guy magnet, so I ok with the car now. Just don't go and change your sex preference with all the attention you're getting...."
(where are all the chicks?)
