Hello all,

I have a 07 TL-S and the truck lid will slam shut if I let go of it. When I push the button to open it, it pops up only a fraction of an inch. I can open the truck but would like to know if there is a way to tight the springs.

 

IIRC, there's a 2nd notch at the end of each side of the trunk spring that you could use - one is for lower tension, other is higher for if you have a spoiler installed on the trunk lid.

Honda does sell a trunk spring tool that makes installing/reinstalling/moving this bastard of a spring much easier.

 

Loose the trunk weight.

 

I take back what I said since it was from experience of other Honda made cars.
