Any experiences with R1 Concepts brake components?

07 TL-S here. I'm getting close to front brake time + have a bent rotor in back that causes the world's most annoying vibration on braking, so I'm thinking I'll just do all 4 rotors, all 8 pads & be done with it for a while.
I'm thinking of getting the full set from R1 Concepts:
Amazon Amazon

Consumer reviews on Amazon and Yelp are for the most part positive but with a smattering of "this place stinks" thrown into the mix as well. Just curious if anyone has experience with this company and its products before pulling the trigger.

thx

1. Those are for the standard from brakes. You have the Type-S so these wouldn’t fit your brembo calipers.

2. Be careful about the black rotors, there is another thread here where a member was asking about something similar not realizing that that black will wear off with use. Just designed to protect the ‘unused’ Parts of the rotor (hat, etc.).

3. If you’re looking for a nice budget option, my recommendation is to check out the options on rockauto. Great place when you’re not looking for upgrades. They’re a vendor on here as well. May have a promotion you cant take advantage of for the entire setup.

Good luck!

Brake vibrations usually happen because of inferior pads...not rotors.

Unless you dropped the car on it (or similar), the rotor likely wasn't warped.

I would stay away from any retail grade ceramic pads. They will be most likely to smear onto the rotor and cause vibrations. Their performance is also terrible in comparison to an equivalent metallic/NAO pad.

The car didn't come with ceramics.

Buy whichever rotors tickle your pickle. It doesn't make a big difference. I like coated rotors that resist rust on the hats/lips.

I would recommend a good set of NAO or semi-metallic pads. If you're lost...OEM (genuine Acura) pads for the type S are a very safe (but expensive) bet.

I bought my crossed drilled rotors from them and I'm very please. No issues and the TL-S brakes just fine. Good experience.
