Today I was a stop light and noticed a srt-4 a couple cars behind me, so when the light turned green I gave it some gas to see if I could get something going. Sure enough my predictions were right the guy got right next to me and I knew he wanted to race. The road that we were on had stop sign after stop sign. At the first stop sign we both came to a complete stop looked at eachother and hit it. Right away he got a jump on me cause I gave her to much gas and burned the tires to much, but right when I gained traction I just pulled on him. I only got a chance to pull a car or a car and a half. Each time we raced it was up to around 65. Every time it was the same thing. At the time my empty light just came on. The guy was cool at the end of the road we gave eachother a head nod and that was that. Second time I killed a srt-4.

 

what mods do you have? I really really want to believe you because i really hate SRT-4s all together but I have admit..they are too fast..atleast for our cars. I just don't see how you could beat him unless you got some serious mods..

But..you kno what..it could be the driver that just sucks

 

My mods are i/h/e/p/sp, and also to out spare and bypassed the coolant lines, remeber I just went on empty. I would not lie about it. I was not the first time I beat a srt-4, but the first time from a dig, last time I raced one was on the highway, and I smoked him. Still he had 3 other passengers and I had none. I am not impressed with these cars at all from my experiece. I don't see how these cars are running mid to high 14's stock.

Mid to high 14's stock? Re-word that as.."the drivers of srt4's can only run them in mid to high 14's"...cuz the car can run a 13.8 or faster right off the showroom floor with a mature driver. And from a roll, you must be putting down serious power to "smoke one" or the srt driver was in 5th gear. Anyways, good kill...I guess anything can happen on the street.

 

yeah I guess most of those srt drivers can't drive, but when I beat one for the third time I am gonna have to say that this cars are not as great as people make them out to be. The guy that I raced last lauched great, so I don't beleave that he was a bad driver. I beat his ass 3 times in a row off the line to 65-70 by a car and a half every time. So you can defend your car all you want, but I am not impressed with srt-4's. Not because my car has beat two, but because they seemed to be hypted up to much.

check out this vid of me vs. an srt4. i treed him but he was catching up to me very quickly near the end. i believe i ran 14.4 or .5 at 97/98 on that run so he must have trapped @ 101+

i know a kid with a SRT-4, first manual car, he's only had it a couple months. I think he only has short-shifter and intake. He ran 14.4 a couple weekends ago at the track.


There's people with Stage2 Mopar kits (optional factory kit) running around mid 13s (if not lower)

Have you ran at a track? If so, whats your times?

 

I am guessing if we would have kept racing to 100 or so he would have caught up with me and pasted me. Through the top end of 1st and all the way through 2nd I was pulling on him, but I think 3rd and above he would have pulled on me. The time I raced one on the freeway it was 100 degrees at night, I am guessing he had turbo lag and extra wieght from passengers, but I still slaughtered him. I want to go to the track, but have not made it out yet. I would be hoping for high to mid 14's though.

 

Cool..a win is a win. I haven't had a race in MONTHS..nobody here in Arkansas really wants to mess around..which with the way my tires are that's prolly a good thing..since I can be in second and punch it and spin the tires like I was in first.
