Another set of painted headlights

I have been sitting at home now for a while (jobless untill next week) and I decided that I would take this free time to paint my headlights.
They were previously smoked to 35% and I got a ticket but the real problem was I couldnt see at night.

After debating how I could get the reflectiveness and brightness of a stock turn signal I came up with 2 ideas. The first one would have required tint paint: painting the housing black still and the inner part of the turn signal with a plastic tint paint i've seen online. But the problem I ran into was I did not have that and my car was taken appart.
So I decided to mask off only a small portion of what I thought was the key essiental part of the reflector, and I'm satisfied with the results!

as you can see it is not very noticable, for the most part it looks all black

and though these arent the best pictures (off a cell phone) you can see it wourked out pretty well!

Only problems I had were with the paint sticking ( I think it may be beacuse it was raining when I painted them) and the headlight glue making a mess.
I bought silicon to seal it but I'm going to see if it will work with out making that mess!

2 questions:
where can I get orange turn signal bulbs?
And what do you think of the grill ( leave it alone or paint it black)?

I would leave the grille alone, unless you wanted to go body color and leave the "A" chrome. I think bc of your body color it looks great as-is. I like how you wedged your plate inside the bottom grill, I'm trying to rig something like that myself bc i don't want to attract too much unwanted attention everytime I go down to virginia without a front plate.

Thanks for the link to the bulbs!

The middle part of the grill that supports the 'A' I already painted once and its a close color to the bottom piece but not a perfect match, I was thinking about painting them both black for a better match with the lights and each other!

As for my liscense plate, I had gotten a ticket for having it in the window so I measured out the size of the grill, put it on a 2x4 and hammered it over, then I just pushed it up into the grill, it hasnt fallen out yet and I've been round 100mph, so I guess its there to stay!

My understanding is that VA requires the amber reflector up front in order to pass inspection, not just an amber bulb. Hopefully you won't have problems passing inspection.
