Another rattle question.

Was wondering if anyone else had an issue with a rattle coming from the passenger side of the car, but in the back. It honestly sounds like something is swinging and hitting against a piece of metal, but whatever it is, its in the seat/headrest/top of seatbelt area. Any ideas? Anyone else have this one? Its annoying as hell.

I had a slight rattle like that. It only occurs when I move really slow. Slow like letting go of the brake and not stepping on the accelerator. The rattle went away.

Hmmm, probably not the same. I get mine whenever I go over an uneven piece of road or do something that would cause whatever is in there to move around.

I think I have one that matches what you describe. I'm not sure what it is or exactly where it is coming from, but somewhere on the passenger side like you describe. Maybe it's in one of the doors?

I get rattling too!!!!!!

I actually have the exact same problem.

In my car, its coming from the seat belt area on BOTH sides.

And there is a rattling noise from the passenger side - I have diagnosed this as coming from the head rest on the front passenger seat.

If its coming from the back, you might want to check the rear head rests.

The headrest problem is not uncommon as I have even seen it in my friend's M5.

But the seatbelt area rattling is REALLY annoying and it just won't go away. I get it on bumpy roads.

And I also get a clicking noise coming from my navigation/climate control area, undefined.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I had a TSX loaner yesterday and there is NO CABIN NOISE AT ALL!!!!! Really pisses me off man.

Well, I have what sounds like the same rattle. It sounds almost like a metallic clicking sound. I haven't tried to look for it yet and I haven't taken it to the dealer. I can only hear it if I have the radio off.

The metallic clicking sound is a big problem. I had mine fixed which took the service guy like 6 h ours not to mention a number of scratches around the back seat area. But, the good news is that it can be fixed.

Add another member to this rattle list. I have it as well and have not tried to diagnose it yet. I have only had my car two days but I still love it.... got to figure out the rattle though before it drives me insane....

This particular rattle is nearly impossible to fix it on your own. I think the best thing to do is to go to your dealer, have your service advisor sit in the back and drive around until he/she hears it. Click on the above link to learn more. I know at least three members got this fixed.

Good luck.

This was probably one of the first problems I had fixed. It was the center seat belt assembly and was simply clicking against the metal shelf. The tech put a lot of foam around the assembly and it took care of it.

I have a rattle from the passenger side headrest too - and that's an annoying one. It's the actual metal bars causing the rattle because they don't sit tightly in the slots. I ended up taping the bars in an effort to "tighten" up the fit. Works, but still rattles occasionally. (I have it up one notch on both sides - if it were sitting down at the lowest position it'd make a leather rubbing noise, which is probably just as, if not more, annoying)

here's my latest rattle update......the side popping noises (driver & passenger b-pillar areas) were eliminated by added foam....however i occasionally still hear a weak popping sound coming from the driver's side.....and i also have some creak/rattle coming from the radio/center cig lighter area occasionally when i accelerate from a stop....my passenger front headrest was also a source of a rattle....the plastic slots were replaced and the rattle is now gone....finally my rattle in the rear shelf was caused my a loose back-up sensor module....however the noise did return 24 hours later....taking it back next week.....again i must say i am surprised and fustrated by these annoying rattles especially coming from a Honda/Acura product !!
