Another New TL!

I Placed a deposit on a new non-navi 06 6MT, Anthracite Metallic / Ebony this evening.

It is due to be built this week- and ship shortly following!

A big thank you to all on this forum- its contents, both positive and negative have provided a wealth of information to help me come to this decision.

Now let's hope the folks in Marysville OH don't do too much drinking this week!

06am6mt...

Anyone in the midwest interested in buying an 01 Prelude 5spd?

Thanks kennyc!

I'm excited as hell.

I'll come back and post pics once I have the car-

My only worry is not getting to test drive the actual TL I am ending up with (since it is still being built) though I suppose I could be a bastard about taking delivery if it ends up being one of the few unlucky rattlers...

I think the navi is pretty darn cool- just wasn't one of my top priorities... I know the forum is crawling with "dear lord I wish I had navi" Or "Here are the 1523 things I did to install navi on my non navi..." Let's hope I don't become one of them...

10 of the top reasons I bought the TL... off the top of my head... i.e. also things I will enjoy in lieu of navi...

1. Loved my Integra GSR, and the Prelude after that. Never had a problem worth worrying about in either car...

2. I love the feel of the Honda / Acura shifter... 6th gear will be a blessing on the highway...

3. After all 4 cyl cars, the rumble of the v6 as well as actually having some torque is fantastic. I felt like the thing would take my head off.

4. Didn't want an Accord I looked- wanted to think it would be good enough since it would save $$... didn't.

5. Less $$ than any reasonable competition = great valu prop.

6. Support the workers of my home state

7. Blu Tooth... no more reaching for the phone while shifting...

8. Love the interior

9. Anthracite / Ebony just looks so bad ass

10. Climate control / Seat Memory / Lumbar / etc...

Congrats and welcome to the forum.

That is the exact car I have. You'll love it!

I do sort of regret not getting the Navi, but only when I see that people have gotten their navi'd TL for $1000~ more than what I paid. I was planning on using my PDA w/ a Bluetooth GPS receiver from the beginning anyway.

I'm with everyone here... I think you should get the NAVI... At least for the resale value.

Even if you don't use it NAVI looks bad ass - way better integrated than the non-NAVI models.

Congrats. I have that exact same car. I sometimes wish that I had the NAVI or the 05. The blue screen background is a little too bright for me but it has since grown on me a little and I don't mind it as much as I did when I first got it. My only problem now is finding rims that I like that will fit over the Brembos.

OVERALL, I love the car!!!

Congrats on the purchase! You got the same set up as me. I finally installed the A-Spec body kit on it about a couple of weeks ago. Now mine doesn't look like everyone else around here.

I would love to turn mine into a CarPC some day. I prefer mp3s over the 6 disc CD/DVD-A changer any day.

Congrats on your new car, and if there is anything wrong with it, be a basterd! I ordered a 2001 Dodge Ram in the fall of 2000, and when it came in, i told them to order me another one. There was an obvious blemish or bondo repair on the one outer side bed wall. Something must have happened at the factory, and then they repaired it and sent it out the door...
It's your money, so if there's anything wrong with it, just say !

Yeah, it's all fun and games until someone cracks a skull.

Now if we can have all this fun without so much goddamn brake dust, that'd be nice.

After having the car for the pass 2 months, I seriously don't know what to do without the navi., bluetooth, voice commands, etc. This is coming from a non-navi. 2G TL.

I didn't get the Navi and I don't long for it nor do I lay awake at night wishing I had it.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Of course, if I get another TL or an RL, I'll get the Navi next time - just to see what all the buzz is about.

It's Here!

First and most important

So, I finally picked up the new TL this morning- Didn't have too much time before dark to get good pics- but I wanted to get something out there for ya!

I ended up having a tough time getting the TL. After I made my deposit on a specific car which was due to be shipped in a week- the dealer 'accidentally traded it away' to another dealer and wanted to replace it with a driver from out of town... Said no way- and picked up the car pictured above from a competing dealer about 20 miles across town (4 miles on the OD). They matched the deal soup to nuts and were great to work with- they even through in a gift basket and the first service free.

Yep- I was more than a little miffed at the 'accidentally traded your car away' thing... But hey that's in the past now- and I got a good deal elsewhere as noted above so moving on...

I just got home from a little night drive- had a lot of fun- though it snowed a little- so now I have streaks down the car Gasp! Will need to figure out how to get the TL clean in the wintertime... Laserwash I suppose... never the whirly scratch~

So I'll close by again saying thanks to the board for providing a fantastic research base. I caught myself laughing this morning as I test drove the new TL before signing the paperwork- I was actually inventing noises in my head- vibrations in my mind.... heck did I just hit a pebble? The car is solid as a vault as of 45 miles... the sound system is better than I had hoped for a stock- heck I am even happy with the Music Link... It is what I expected thanks to the board. . . . I had left my Prelude at the Acura dealer through the day and zipped over after work to pick it up (was dropped off) driving the beloved Prelude after a day in the TL was proof enough- the TL is a winner.
